Addis Ababa - Arba Minch

  • Day 1 : Discover Addis Abeba

    Description :

    We will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. For your first day in Ethiopia, we will take you to mount Entoto, a green and peaceful hill that is 3,000 metres (9,842 ft.) high above sea level and provides an exceptional panoramic view over the capital city below. We will then visit the Entoto Maryam Church, a typical building with its octagonal shape and colours, as well as Menelik II Museum. Lunch in town,

    Day 2 : Arbaminch-Fourty springs

    Description :

    A day drive to Arba Minch, the Southern Rift Lakes of Chamo and Abaya adjacent to Nechisar National Park. We stop at the Melka Kunture archeological site and Tiya heritage site to admire the crudely fashioned stone monoliths, that some believe to be ancient grave marks. We stop for lunch at Butajira local restaurant and then precede on the edge of the Rift valley the village of Guraghe, Kambata, Wolayita and if time allow we detour to Dorze peoples traditional weaving. Much important is Enset (false banana) plantation, used for Kocho (food), dominant multipurpose. In the evening enjoy the clear-blue stars of the African sky over fascinating Chamo and Abay Lake

    Day 3 : Arbaminch-Fourty springs

    Description :

    In the morning we drive across the barrier land, the so called 'BRIDGE OF GOD', which separate the Chamo and Abaya Lakes. In the park you will see the endemic Swayne Hartebeest, Burchell Zebras, Lesser and Greater Kudus, Grant and Thomson Gazelles and amongst birds; Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Kori Bustard, Secretary bird and Lesser Kestrel. In the afternoon, boat trip to Lake Chamo to view the Crocodiles, Hippopotamus or we drive to Chencha a Dorze village to admire their cultural weaving and Bamboo and Enset-leaves made house style.

    Day 4 : Jinka-the capital of omo valley tribes

    Description :

    Key Afer Market Today we drive further south to the town of Jinka. At Key Afer, you will be able to join in the local weekly Key Afer market, some a very colorful market that attracts neighbouring tribes in the region - the Aris from Jinka, the Tsamay from Weyto and the Hamars from Dimeka area and are known for their local made showy decorative dressings and bunting hair style as well as dye striped bodies. Attending to this market will allow you to compare the dressing patterns, ornamentation techniques etc. of the various tribes in the area. Afternoon, you will be proceeding to Jinka.

    Day 5 : Turmi-The town of Hammar tribe

    Description :

    We drive further south to visit the Mursi Village in Mago Park, and may spot wild games such as Gerenuk, Oribi, Kudu, Hartebeest, Water-buck and many bird species (180 species have been recorded in this Park so far). The Mursi tribe whose women wear circular clay plate on their lower lip as well ear lobes the men are known for the fierce stick fighting. Afternoon drive to Turmi the Key Afer town Day 06. Saturday Dimeka Market Morning drive to Omo river to visit Karo tribe, famous for their scarification of body painting. Visit also the village of Hammer. Afternoon drive to Dimeka to attend the Saturday market which attracts neighbouring tribes from the area like Hammer, Karo, Ari and sometimes Dassanech .

    Day 6 : Omorate-where the Dasanech inhabites close to the Omo river

    Description :

    In the morning drive to Omorate to visit Dassanech village the come back to Dimeka to visit on of the colorful market where the Hammar, Ari, Banna and sometimes the Karo meet once a week to exchange their products.

    Day 7 : Arba Minch - Fourty springs

    Description :

    Drive to Arba Minch, en route visit the Arbore tribe & their village. Visit the Konso villages, known for their traditional cluster house style, ritual sites, grave mark Totem known as Waka and traditional terrace farming.

    Day 8 : Langano - the only beach in Ethiopia

    Description :

    Drive to Addis Ababa through the Great Rift Valley lakes and scenic beauty. En route short stop at Abiyata shalla National park to see various birds like ostriches and others.

    Day 9 : Addis Abeba - New flower

    Description :

    Late in the morning head to Addis Abeba, en route visit lake Zewy which known by aquatic birds. Evening traditional farewell dinner parties with folkloric dance then depart in the evening depending on your flight schedule.

    Any cancellation request must be sent by e-mail to Gish-Abay Ethiopia Tours. The e-mail receipt date will be the one recorded as the official cancellation date. Cancellation fees are due once the reservation has become definitive. The amount of these fees (contingent upon the special notices provided in the validated tour package description shall be:

  •  Beyond 60 days from departure: 12% of the tour price (with a minimum retention of 200 dollars
  • Between 59 and 31 days prior to departure: 20% of the tour price (with a minimum retention of €300)
  • From 30 to 21 days prior to departure: 40% of the tour price - from 20 to 15 days prior to departure: 60% of the tour price - from 14 to 8 days prior to departure: 75% of the tour price
  • Within 7 days of departure: 100% of the tour price.
  • full payment of tickets at least 45 days prior to the departure date and does not grant
  • Any trip interrupted, or any service not used due to the Client's preference will not be considered for any reimbursement.
  • Gish-Abay Ethiopia Tours only makes commitments to the Client regarding the services actually sold. When several Clients are registered on the same travel party and one of them cancels his/her trip, the cancellation fees are withdrawn on the sums cashed by Gish-Abay Ethiopia Tours for the entire party regardless of which traveler actually paid. The tour may still take place provided the participants have settled whatever additional service charges might be due prior to departure as a result of modifications required due to the cancellation of one or more travelers.
