Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is the highest of the five Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Tunganath (literal meaning: Lord of the peaks) mountains form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys. Located at an altitude of 3,680 m (12,073 ft), and just below the peak of Chandrashila. The temple is believed to be 5000 years old and is the third (Tritiya Kedar) in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars. It has a rich legend linked to the Pandavas, heroes of the Mahabharata
Chopta is a small region of meadows and evergreen forest area which is a part of kedarnath wildlife sanctuary located in Uttarakhand state, India and a base for trekking to Tungnath, which lies 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) away. Located at a distance of 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) from Tungnath is Chandrashila, a rising to over 4,000 metres (13,000 ft).
Chopta is an unspoiled natural destination lying in the lap of the Uttarakhand Himalayas and offers views of the imposing Himalayan range including Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba. It is located at an elevation of 2,680 metres (8,790 ft) above sea level. Chopta village is surrounded by forests of pine, deodar and rhododendron and is rich in flora and fauna include rare species of birds and musk deer.

Itinerary
Night – 9th Feb: Our hippie bus will depart at 7:00 PM from Delhi.

Advisory:
Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes
Pay heed to the guidelines given by trek leader or instructor in order to enjoy a safe and sound trekking experience
Avoid trekking during the nights
The trek takes place through eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites
For proper blood circulation, avoid wearing thick socks or more than one pair of socks
Instead of denim jeans, wear track pants
Avoid carrying snacks and junk food
Do not use disposable plastic water bottles, plastic-wrapped items
Always carry a couple of pairs of thermal innerwear
Wear waterproof jackets and gloves
Always pack light and carry only the essentials
It is mandatory to carry your identification proof

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made within 5 days of the trek, full cost shall be charged.
Cancellations made within 10 days of the trek, 50% of the cost shall be charged.
In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases, the operator will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : (9th - 10th Feb)

  Overnight drive till Rishikesh and post that 7hrs ride till sari village. By afternoon, we will reach Sari village and enjoy our lunch. After having lunch our trek starts for Deoria Tal. We will reach Deoriatal before sun set. It would be a spectacular view watching the reflection of the sunset in beautiful Deoria Tal. We will capture some beautiful moments and will relax around bonfire and have our dinner. Overnight stay in camps.

• Day 2 : (11th Feb)

  This morning after having breakfast we will gear up for trek to Chopta.This 14 km distance from Deoria Tal to Chopta takes close to 8 hours.The trek begins with steady ascent followed by a rapid descent. There are 2-3 water points en route, which we find right before RohiniBugyal, AkashKamini Waterfall, and Bhrujgali and there we can enjoy our packed lunch. After reaching Chopta we will check in to our camps and will relax around bonfire and will enjoy our dinner.

• Day 3 : 12th Feb -13th Feb

  This morning we will have our breakfast and will head towards our hippie van (parked near Chopta base camp). There we will keep our backpacks and will trek towards Tungnath. This would be an adventures day of the trek. The downhill journey is relatively less time consuming and smoother. It will take about 1-2 hours to climb down to Chopta base camp and will head back to Delhi (around 4:00 PM).
