Kanyakumari Temple is a renowned Hindu temple in the district of Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. It is a shrine dedicated to Devi Kanya Kumari, an adolescent virgin girl who is a manifestation of Goddess Bhagavathy. She is worshiped here in two forms namely Devi Bhadrakali and in the second form of a celibate adolescent. This temple also has a great importance because it one among the 51 Shakti Peethas in India and is visited by the followers of Goddess Bhagavathy throughout the country.

1) According to folklore, Mother Goddess killed the demon Banasura at this place and he pleaded her to free him from his sins and stay there forever. Till date, the divine presence can be felt at Kanyakumari Temple
