Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu

    Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport (TIA) you will be met by an Approved Holidays representative who will accompany you to your hotel. After you have settled, a tour briefing will be held in the hotel lobby to go through the holiday in more detail and answer any questions you may have. Today is a free day to relax, one of our guides will help you to get to know the city a little. In the evening we have an introductory evening meal program in a traditional Nepalese restaurant.

  • Day 2 : Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

    Today, after breakfast, we start a guided tour to four of the seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in The Kathmandu Valley. We visit the following places:

    Kathmandu Durbar Square holds the palaces of the medieval Kings who ruled over the then Kathmandu Kingdom from the 13th to 17 th centuries.

    Pashupatinath houses a sacred lingum, or the phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. The Aryaghat alongside Pashupati and on the banks of the Bagmati River is a famous funeral site for Hindus.

    The Buddhists shrine of Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in the world and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage destinations in the world. The area of Boudhanath is also famous for over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries that surround it.

    Swayambhunath meaning the "the self-existent" is popularly known among foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area.

  • Day 3 : Mountain Flight & Sightseeing Tour: Patan, Khokana, Bungmati

    Today is a special and varied day, to begin we take an hour's mountain flight in the morning which takes us over the Himalayas flying very close to some of the highest peaks in the world. After the mountain flight we return for breakfast at the hotel and after breakfast we start a guided tour of the many heritage sites within The Kathmandu Valley including:

    Patan, one of the ancient settlements in the Kathmandu Valley about 5 kilometers south-east of Kathmandu. The Patan Durbar Square and the city thoroughfares are full of ancient places, temples and shrines, noted for their exquisite carvings.

    Khokana lies about 8 Kilometers south from Kathmandu, a traditional village that retains a lot of its original character it is famous for its mustard-oil seed industrial heritage. Bungmati is close by around 10 kilometers south from Kathmandu, a very traditional small town with people drying red chilly and garlic from the medieval house windows.

    Drive to Nagarkot for overnight stay.

  • Day 4 : Drive to Daman

    Enjoy the early morning sunrise over the mountains. A clear morning will bring you spectacular views of the mountains. After breakfast we drive to Daman, 80 kilometers south from Kathmandu around four hours drive as we go deep into the mountains through sparse settlements and Rhododendron forest. Daman is a popular resort town set at an altitude of about 2400 meters above sea level. It is known as one of the best vantage points to view a wide range of Himalayas including Mount Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shankar, and Cho Oyu. Enjoy a walk around the surrounding villages for an opportunity to connect with the local life. In the evening, dinner is served along with a traditional Nepali cultural program. Overnight at Daman resort. (B), (D)

  • Day 5 : Drive to Bandipur (four hours)

    Bandipur is located at an elevation of 1030m on a mountain saddle about 145 km to the west of Kathmandu on the way to Pokhara. An 8 km access road links Bandipur with Dumre on the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway. The hill-top settlement has retained much of its history and culture and there are some wonderful panoramic views of the Annapurnas from here. The town is a living museum of Newari culture with more than 70% of the buildings constructed in a Newari style with carved wooden windows and overhanging slate roofs. There is also a famous cave called Siddha Cave to be explored. Overnight at Bandipur. (B),(D)

  • Day 6 : Drive to Pokhara & Sightseeing (three hours)

    Today, we leave Bandipur and take a 60 kilometer drive to Pokhara. Pokhara known as The Lake City has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. The town offers magnificent close up views of Mounts Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna and others. Pokhara's numerous lakes, known as 'Tal' in Nepali offer fishing, boating and swimming. Pokhara is also the gateway for trekking in the Annapurna Region. After arriving at our Pokhara hotel for lunch we take a sightseeing trip to some of Pokhara's marketplaces, old bazaars, and landmarks. In the evening there is time to explore the surrounding lakeside areas. Overnight at Pokhara. (B)

  • Day 7 : Full Day Pokhara Sightseeing with Sarangkot Sunrise

    We spend a full day sightseeing around Pokhara today. Early morning we drive to the Sarangkot Hill to experience the beautiful sunrise view over the Himalayas before returning to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast we take a boat ride on Phewa Lake,the second biggest lake in Nepal this is followed by a visit to The World Peace Pagoda. There are also visits to the Gupteshwar Gufa Cave, Seti River Gorge, Devi's Fall and The Mountain Museum. Overnight at Pokhara. (B)

  • Day 8 : Drive to Tansen & Lumbini (six hours)

    Drive to Tansen, 125 kilometers from Pokhara. Tansen is a hill town set within beautiful green hills that offers more fantastic views of the snow covered Himalayan peaks. It is also famous for hand-woven Dhaka cloth, used to make the Nepali national cap (Topi). After lunch at Tansen we continue our journey to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, about 75 kilometers from Tansen and check into our hotel. Overnight at Lumbini. (B),(D)

  • Day 9 : Full Day Lumbini Sightseeing

    Lumbini is one of world's major religious, architectural and historical places. We devote today visiting many places and sites in Lumbini. Lumbini covers a vast area with many monuments, temples. We visit the Mayadevi Temple that was built on the exact place where Buddha was born. The gardens here are beautiful so time is spent to relax and wander around them. We also visit the museum and peace pagoda. Other important landmarks and monuments in Lumbini include: Ashoka's Pillar erected by Emperor Ashoka (249 BC) on the spot of Buddha's birth. There are also many Buddhist Temples founded by devotees of many different countries, among them Tibetan, Chinese, Japanese Burmese and Korean. This is a full and very rewarding day. Overnight at Lumbini. (B),(D)

  • Day 10 : Drive to Chitwan National Park (five hours)

    After an early morning breakfast we drive to Chitwan, about 180 kilometers from Lumbini. After checking in to the hotel and getting refreshed you will be briefed about the full Chitwan Nature Program by our nature guide. There will be a guided village walk on the banks of the Rapti River to watch the ever changing sunset views in the sub-tropical jungle. In the evening there is a dinner with a cultural program performed by ethnic tribal people displaying their stick dances and tribal drums. Overnight at Chitwan. Included meals: (B, L, D)

  • Day 11 : Full Day at Chitwan National Park including Jungle Safari

    Chitwan National Park has been declared by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Today you will discover why the National Park holds such an important place in preserving the wildlife in Nepal. A full day of Jungle activities is planned, it includes elephant back safari, canoe ride, elephant bathing, a visit to The Elephant Breeding Center, bird watching and a nature walk. The Park is home to rhinoceros, tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild bison, gangetic dolphins and over 500 birds along with many butterfly species. It also plays refuge to the near extinct Gharials crocodiles.

  • Day 12 : Fly to Kathmandu

    An early morning flight back to Kathmandu and after checking into your hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure for some last minute shopping or sightseeing. In the evening a farewell meal is arranged. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 13 : Fly Home

    The final day of your tour and a sad goodbye. Our representative will transfer you to the airport in good time for the flight to your onward destination. (B)
