This custom 8 day 7 night safari begins in Arusha and returns to Arusha. The itinerary visits five parks and cultural sites including Lake Eyasi with a Hadzabe cultural visit, Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti National Park with guided game drives and budget camping, Ngorongoro Crater with a full day crater game drive, Lake Manyara National Park, and Materuni Waterfalls with a coffee plantation tour. Accommodation is a mix of budget hotel, lodge and budget camping. Meals are provided as specified in the day by day section and drinking water and non alcoholic drinks are included on most days. The tour includes all accommodations, activities unless optional, transportation unless optional, park fees, taxes, VAT and a professional guide.
Arrive in Arusha where you will be greeted and given a quick rundown of the tour. Explore the streets of Arusha to learn about local life, visit markets, museums and sample the local food scene. Accommodation is at Karibu Heritage House, a tree lined property near downtown with spacious rooms, en suite bathrooms, mosquito nets and a pool. This day is intended for arrival, orientation and relaxing to process and recover from travel.

Travel by road from Karibu Heritage House to Lake Eyasi for a cultural visit. Lake Eyasi offers views of the lake, Kidero Mountains and the Eyasi escarpment and is the traditional home of the Hadzabe people. Meet the Hadzabe and visit their traditional lands to learn about their culture. Return by road to Karibu Heritage House in Arusha and relax for the evening.

Depart Karibu Heritage House and transfer by road to Tarangire National Park, a park famed for its baobab trees, large elephant populations, and diverse wildlife including lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. Enjoy guided game viewing in classic safari scenery and then transfer to Ngedere Lodges & Camps for lodge accommodation and relaxation.

Transfer by road from Ngedere Lodges & Camps to Serengeti National Park. Spend the day on guided game drives across vast savannahs, acacia dotted plains and hill country, seeking lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes and spotted hyenas. Camp in budget camping accommodation to experience the outdoors and the night sounds of Africa.

Spend another day in Serengeti National Park to continue safari activities and wildlife viewing. The Serengeti offers exceptional opportunities to see big cats, large herbivores and diverse wildlife across iconic landscapes. Enjoy guided game drives and camping under the stars at the budget campsite.

Early transfer by road from Serengeti to Ngorongoro with a guided full day game drive into and around the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend the steep trail onto the crater floor to experience a unique sunken ecosystem with cloud forest rims and wildlife such as lions, hyenas, elephants, black rhinos and hippos. Spend most of the day exploring the crater floor and return to Ngedere Lodges & Camps for the evening.

Drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a guided game drive in this compact park that features a narrow forest strip, the vast lake and Rift Valley escarpment. The park is known for large populations of elephants and baboons and for tree climbing lions. After the game drive transfer back to Karibu Heritage House in Arusha and relax for the evening.

Transfer by road from Karibu Heritage House to Materuni Waterfalls near Moshi and Mt Kilimanjaro. Hike down to the spectacular waterfall and visit a local coffee plantation to learn about coffee production and taste local food. After the activities transfer back to Arusha where the tour concludes.
