Dagshai Jail Museum, Solan is a former British prison that happens to be a frequently visited place. So, basically, the museum is one of the oldest cantonment towns in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. This place was earlier used as the storage yard and only after the armuy people cleaned the place, it came out to be a well-designed structure. Later on, this place was converted into a museum and it is also to be noted here that this is the only jail museum in India apart from the Cellular Jail in the Andamans.History:As far as the history of the place is talked about, the leader James Daly of the mutiny was shot by a firing squad in the prison courtyard dated November 2, 1920. After being given complete military honors and funeral, his remains were then buried at the Dagshai Cemetery until 1970.
