This museum is the oldest museum present in the state. Colonel Sir Swinton Jacob designed the building of the museum and it is situated in the midst of Ram Niwas Bagh. The museum was constructed in the year 1876, during the period when King Edward VII, the Prince of Wales visited India. The period was opened for public in the year 1886.
