This city is most visited by pilgrims for Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is also famously called Tirupati Balaji. Sri Varahaswami temple is another temple which ideally is to be visited before Balaji Temple based on religious myths. Other religious spots are Alamelu Mangapuram Temple, Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Kapila Theertham (dedicated to Lord Shiva and Parvati), and ISKCON etc.
