Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival

You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel in this beautiful city, within sight of Table Mountain.

Check in and relax in your magnificent surroundings.

  • Day 2 : Cape Town

Meet with your hotel manager today to discuss your wedding and any special requests you may have regarding the ceremony.

Balance of day free to relax in beautiful Cape Town.

  • Day 3 : WEDDING DAY

Wake at leisure on this your WEDDING DAY.

Enjoy every moment of this your Wedding Day without any of the pressures of a formal wedding, as you marry in spectacular surroundings under warm blue South African skies and create memories of a lifetime.

Ride the cable car up Table Mountain to exchange your vows in a spectacular setting and toast your marriage with champagne to complete your special day.

Wedding package varies by hotel, but usually includes small bouquet of flowers for the bride, buttonhole for the groom, small wedding cake & a bottle of sparkling wine. Any other extras (eg make-up, photographer) will be subject to a supplement. Full details of the package you have chosen will be provided separately. We also offer a free Gift Registry App.

Please remember that Table Mountain weddings are weather dependant, as the cable car does not run if there is strong wind, so do not be too disappointed if a back up venue is required.

Copies of Documents to be provided in advance (take originals with you)
    Full (unabridged) birth certificates
Certified copies of each passport biographic page
3 recent colour passport photos each
Affadavits from each of bride and groom that they are not married and free to marry (sworn in front of a solicitor)
Proof of residence (eg recent utility bill or bank certificate)
If divorced, previous marriage & divorce certificates (or certified copy of front page of Divorce Papers, showing court, case number & date)

For citizens from outside the Commonwealth only, a Letter of Non-Impediment (or letter of civil status) from the appropriate authority, stating that each party is eligible to marry.
You will also need to complete a small personal questionnaire (eg place of birth, highest education level; current occupation and address)
If any of these documents are not in English, you will need to take 2 certified translated copies with you.

On your Wedding Day: Before your wedding, you will be required to sign a "Declaration for the Purpose of Marriage" (Form BI-31) and provide a print of your left thumb. After your wedding, you will be presented with a hand written marriage certificate and the second copy of the Marriage Register. After your marriage has been registered with the authorities in South Africa, an abridged marriage certificate will be sent to you and, for countries that require it, an Apostille will be arranged from the High Court (both these can take up to 3 months). Please be aware that all marriages in South Africa are "In Community of Property", unless a valid antenuptial contract has been entered into before the marriage. There is no requirement to register your marriage on your return to the UK, but many other countries do require this.

  • Day 4 : Cape Town

At leisure to relax and explore the 'Mother City' of Cape Town.

Many optional activities are available in this beautiful city. You can visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned (advance booking essential in season), Kirstenbosch Gardens and the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Golf and deep sea game fishing are available, or you can or simply relax on Camps Bay beach – the choice is yours.

  • Day 5 : Hout Bay

This morning your hire car will be dropped off at your hotel.

We recommend you spend the day exploring the beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve peninsula. Start with an optional short boat trip from Hout Bay to view Cape Fur seals at Seal Island and continue via Chapman’s Peak Drive to spectacular Cape Point where you may see baboons, ostrich and perhaps even dolphins or whales in season (July/November).

On the return journey we recommend driving through naval Simons Town and visit the resident penguin colony at Boulders Beach. You can also make a short stop at the world famous Kirstenbosch Gardens, before returning to your hotel in the late afternoon.

  • Day 6 : Stellenbosch Winelands

Drive 45-minutes to the beautiful Stellenbosch Winelands.

Along the way we recommend stopping at the Cheetah Outreach project in Somerset West, a community-based programme seeking to raise awareness of the plight of the cheetah and campaign for its survival.

You can also stop at one or more wine estates along the famous Stellenbosch wine route. Check into your hotel in this famous wine producing area, relax under the giant oak trees and savour the fine food and wines of this region.

  • Day 7 : Stellenbosch Winelands

Today we suggest an optional full day tour through the renowned Stellenbosch Winelands, including the scenic Franschhoek Valley where a handful of French Huguenot refugees started South Africa’s now famous wine industry.

Explore the historic university town of Stellenbosch and several wine estates on this famous wine route, which stretched from Paarl through to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy a cellar tour and some wine tasting, before being dropped off at your hotel in the late afternoon.

  • Day 8 : Stellenbosch

A full day on the road today as you drive 6-hours from Stellenbosch to Knysna on the beautiful Garden Route.

In the historic town of Swellendam you will see some lovely examples of Cape Dutch architecture and in Mossel Bay you can visit the Post Office tree, where early navigators left mail for homebound ships to Europe and where the Portuguese navigator Bartholomew Diaz landed and erected a cross.

Enjoy the beaches of Wilderness and the lakes of Sedgefield, before checking into your Knysna hotel in this area of outstanding natural beauty.

Note: In season we recommend bookings Knysna restaurants online in advance of your visit, to avoid disappointment.

  • Day 9 : Knysna Waterfront

This morning drive to the Knysna Waterfront in good time to board the MV John Benn for a relaxing 1.5-hour cruise to the 'Heads' of beautiful Knysna Lagoon, including lunch on board.

  • Day 10 : Knysna

Today is free to explore the small town of Knysna with its beautiful lagoon, shops, restaurants and beaches.

Walkers can enjoy the beautiful Knysna Forest or travel to nearby Plettenberg Bay and enjoy a scenic coastal hike around the Robberg Peninsula. Other activities in Knysna include sailing, deep sea fishing, horse riding, mountain biking, kayaking and golf.

Optional wildlife activities near Plettenberg Bay include a visit to the Elephant Sanctuary; Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary; Birds of Eden; Wild Cat Sanctuary; Raptor Park or Lawnwood snake sanctuary. You can also participate in an ocean safari to search for dolphins and whales in season (July to November).

  • Day 11 : Knysna

Today drive 5-hours from Knysna to your malaria free private game reserve near Addo in the beautiful Eastern Cape.

After driving past the beaches of Plettenberg Bay, continue northwards across the dramatic Storms River Gorge and past the Tsitsikamma Forest.

Continue to your game lodge and enjoy an afternoon game drive, where game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately. Hopefully see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe today - as well as several of the Big Five - before dining in your warm African surroundings.

Note: Ensure you arrive at your lodge in good time (preferably by 2.30 pm latest) so you do not miss your game drive.

  • Day 12 : Southern Cross

Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day and enjoy a thrilling open-top game viewing safari with your lodge ranger in your Private Game Reserve which is home to all the Big Five - Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino. Hope to see many interesting species before returning to your lodge for breakfast.

The rest of the morning is free to relax by the lodge swimming pool, before setting out again in the late afternoon for another game drive. Hope to see giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting animals. With hundreds of different bird species, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed!

After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.

Note: children < 6 are not allowed on open top game drives.

  • Day 13 : Departure

Enjoy some final early morning game viewing, before driving 2-hours to Port Elizabeth Airport for your flight home.
