Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Guest Picked Up/ Agra Arrival

  Guest picked up in the morning and we proceed towards Agra. Upon arrival we take a hotel. After rest and refreshment we drive straight to the magnificent Taj Mahal.
  
  Taj Mahal: Symbol of passionate love Taj Mahal is one of the most glorious buildings built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It was constructed during 1632-1654 AD in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal. Innumerable beautifully printed lines of Islamic scripture line the walls of the great monument. They were transcribed from the Holy Quran under the supervision of head calligrapher Abd-al Haqq. He also received credit for his calligraphy in the monument. Night rest.

• Day 2 : Sightseeing/ Back Tour

  We explore Agra Fort, Baby Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri. In the morning we explore Agra fort and baby Taj.
  
  Agra fort: Agra Fort, a UNESCO world heritage site, is a massive edifice built in red sandstone. It was built as a military structure by Akbar and was transformed into a palace by his son, Shah Jahan. A heartbreaking story is linked with this fort. It is said that Shah Jahan was held in prison by his son Aurangzeb for 8 years in the octagonal tower, ‘Mussaman Burj’ of Red Fort where he died. Many intricate structures are present inside the fort which are worth exploration.
  
  
  Itimād-ud-Daulah (Baby Taj): It is a lovely red sandstone structure which is a Mughal mausoleum. Jahangir conferred the title to ‘Itmad-ud-Daulah’ meaning ‘Pillar of the Government’ to his father-in-law Ghiyas Beg. Baby Taj was built by Noor Jahan in the memory of her father. It is delicate in appearance due to widespread use of superbly carved marble lattice screens.After exploring Agra fort and baby Taj we drive straight to Fatehpur Sikri.
  
  
  
  Fatehpur Sikri: This famous city was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. It is one of the most beautiful examples of Mughal Architecture but was abandoned due to scarcity of water. Here we see Buland Darwaja, Diwan-i-Khas and Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti.
  
  Buland Darwaja: This one of the biggest gateways in the world is 54 metres high. It was built by Akbar to celebrate his triumph over Gujarat. It opens from 6 am to 6 pm daily.
  
  Diwan-i-Khas: At this place Emperor Akbar used to discuss about faiths related to different religions with people.
  
  Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti: This highly admired place is a white marble structure showcasing excellence in craftsmanship.
  
  
  After exploring major spots we begin back trip to Chandigarh for drop at preferred location
