It is home to Pythagorean and the Heraion of Samos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes the Eupalinian aqueduct, a marvel of ancient engineering. Samos is the birthplace of the Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras, after whom the Pythagorean theorem is named, the philosopher Epicurus, and the astronomer Aristarchus of Samos, the first known individual to propose that the Earth revolves around the sun.
Samian wine was well known in antiquity, and is still produced on the island.
The included panoramic tour of the island will take you also to wine museum.

  • Day 5 : MILOS

The island is famous for the statue of Aphrodite (the "Venus de Milo", now in the Louvre), and also for statues of the Greek god Asclepius (now in the British Museum. Milos was a source of obsidian (natural glass used for razor sharp "stone tools") during the Neolithic ages for the Aegean and Mediterranean as early as 13,000 years ago.
There are about 70 beaches on Milos Island. Also an interesting archaeological Museum.

  • Day 6 : PIRAEUS (ATHENS) - SYROS

We arrive at the port of Piraeus for a technical stop and will continue to Syros.
Syros or Siros or Syra is a Greek island in the Cyclades, in the Aegean Sea. The island was the home of the philosopher Pherecydes, the teacher of Pythagoras. The capital of Syros, Ermoupoli, stands on a naturally amphitheatrical site, with neoclassical buildings, old mansions and white houses cascading down to the harbour. The City Hall, where Miaoulis Square lies, ringed with cafes and with seating areas under palm trees, has a grandeur all of its own. The "City of Hermes" has numerous churches, the most interesting of which are Metamorphosis, Koimisis, St. Demetrius, Three Hierarchs.

  • Day 7 : CESME

Free day in Cesme. Cesme is a coastal town and the administrative centre of the district, popular holiday resort. The name "Cesme" means "fountain" and possibly draws reference from the many Ottoman fountains scattered across the city. Its name in Classical antiquity was Kysos under the Greeks , Kysus under the Romans. The name Kysos is nevertheless associated with Homer since the king Rhesus of Thrace, ally of the Trojans during the Trojan War and slain together with twelve of his men by Diomedes who had plotted with Odysseus to steal the magnificent horses of the Thracians, had his wife Argantona , a mythical beauty and a master of animals like her husband, who inhabited the forests of Kysos.

  • Day 8 : KOS

Early in the morning we will arrive in Kos, a Greek island of the group of the Dodecanese. In ancient times Kos was a Dorian colony with a large contingent of settlers from Epidaurus, whose Asclepius cult made their new home famous. In the Hellenistic age, Kos attained the zenith of its prosperity. Among its most famous sons were the physician Hippocrates, the painter Apelles, the poets Philitas and, perhaps, Theocritus. The ancient physician Hippocrates is thought to have been born on Kos, and in the center of the town is the Plane Tree of Hippocrates, a dream temple where the physician is traditionally supposed to have taught.
The included panoramic tour of the island will take you to the most important sites.
The small city is also home to the International Hippocratic Institute and the Hippocratic Museum dedicated to him. Near the Institute are the ruins of Asklepieion, where Herodicus taught Hippocrates medicine.

Chora is a white and very picturesque cycladic village, full of stairs and narrow paths that make it inaccessible for cars of any kind. Today, the main path through this village is completely taken over by tourism in terms of restaurants, boutiques, bars and discothèques. Ios is famous for its beaches and the incredible night life.
