Rubina La Pass trek is a challenging trek into the lower Manaslu region of Nepal which was opened for trekking since 1991 AD. Rupina la is known for its incredible views of Manaslu, Hiunchuli and Boudha Mountains. Rupina la Pass trekking route begins from Ghyampesal which lies near to Gorkha. Explore the rhododendron forest and pine forest and pass through the villages of legendary Gurung ethnic. Rupina La pass exists in the Manaslu conversation area and thus it requires special trekking permit for exploration.

Climb Darchye Danda and lower down to the meadow of Baprak Kharka. Arrive at the Rupinala Base Camp of Nepal which is nearby Nirtse Kharka. Conquer Rubinala and lower down to Deng through Meme Kharka. We will also climb Larkya La Pass before returning to Kathmandu from Syange.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1310m), Transfer to Hotel (B.B.)

  Once you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, you will proceed through custom and visa formalities and then representative from Ace Holiday Treks Pvt. Ltd. will receive you. You will be transferred to the luxurious hotel in Kathmandu with Bed and Breakfast plan. You will get briefing regarding your trek package and then enjoy the delicious meal before spending your night in a hotel.

• Day 2 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley

  Early in the morning, you will be provided with half day Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour during which you will visit UNESCO enlisted cultural heritage sites of Pashupatinath and Bouddhanath including the holy Narayanthan Temple which is also known as Budhanilkantha Temple. Located in a tranquil atmosphere, you can witness the giant form of Lord Vishnu reclining in a snake bed at the middle of lake in Budhanilkantha.

• Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Gorkha 150km 5hrs.

  Historically, the most important town of Nepal and the birthplace of King Prithvi Narayan Nepal who played key role in unification of Nepal, Gorkha is located 150km far from Kathmandu and can be accessed by 5hrs of drive from Kathmandu. Visit Gorkha Palace (3281m) from where King Prithvi Narayan Shah used to rule over Gorkha.

• Day 4 : Trek from Gorkha to Gyampesal

  Local bus leave at around 8am every morning from Gorkha to Ghyampesal. 3hrs of drive will take us to Ghyampesal which is the starting point of Rupinala Pass Trek. Alternatively, we can take walk from Gorkha to Ghyampesal. Stay overnight at Ghyampesal.

• Day 5 : Gyampesal to Palkhu Village

  After having early breakfast, we will leave Ghyampesal and pass through few villages like Deurali and Mulabari to Palkhu village. Palkhu is the small Gurung village. We will stay nearby the Primary School of Palkhu village.

• Day 6 : Palkhu Village to Thotneri

  Leaving Palkhu village, we will visit Sita Cave. Sita Cave is located in Swar VDC and is the biggest cave in Nepal. It was in this place that Sage Gorakhnath had meditated. Moving further through Tallo Thotneri, we will arrive at Thotneri where we will stay overnight.

• Day 7 : Thotneri to Darchye

  Sharp ascend from Thotneri will take us to Darchye/ Darche Danda. 3 hrs of climbing will take us to the summit which offers epic views of Manaslu Mountain, rivers and surrounding. We will stay overnight at Darchye.

• Day 8 : Darchye to Baprak Kharka

  From Darchye, we will pass through few villages to Nambai Kharka. Passing through the forest, we will reach big village of Gurung ethnics. Crossing this village, we will arrive at Baprak village via Basukang. Majority of people living in this village are ex- indian or British Army officers.

• Day 9 : Baprak Kharka to Nirtse Kharka

  Couple of hours of descends from Barpak Kharka will take us to Tumsiak village. We will walk along Daraudi River to Gai Kharka. Continuing further through forest, we will reach Nirtse Kharka where we will stay overnight.

• Day 10 : Nirtse Kharka to Rupina La Phedi

  You will experience increase in altitude at this point. From Nirtse Kharka, pass through Sanrung Kharka to the foothill of famous Rupina La Pass which is also known as Rupinala Base Camp. Stay overnight in a tented camp at Rupina La Phedi.

• Day 11 : Rupina La Phedi to Meme Kharka Via Rupina La Pass (4640m)

  Rupina La Pass is the second highest point of this trek as it is located at 4640m altitude. It will take 4-5hrs of difficult climb to take us to the top of Rupinala Pass. Sharp descend from Rupinala Pass will take us to Meme Kharka where we will stay overnight.

• Day 12 : Meme Kharka to Gai Kharka

  The trail from Meme Kharka to Gai Kharka is scenic. We will move along pasture lands full of lush green vegetation and forest of pine and oaks. We will experience subtropical type of climate at this part.

• Day 13 : Gai Kharka to Deng (1920m)

  After a brief ascend, we will take the descending trail to Deng. It takes 6-7 hrs of trek to take us to Deng where we will stay in a camp at Deng.

• Day 14 : Deng to Namrung (2700m)

  We will reach to Ranagaon where we will take lunch before climbing the escalating trail to Bihi Phedi. Brief descend from Bihi Phedi will take us to Budhi Gandaki River. Walking along Budhigandaki River, we will reach Ghap. Following the ascending trail from Ghap, we will reach Namrung. We can enjoy views of Sringi Mountain and Himalchuli Mountain from our trail.

• Day 15 : Namrung to Lho (3180m)

  The path from Namrung to Lho is scenic with views of Rupinala pass, Manaslu Mountain, Dwijen Mountain, Saula peak and Lajing peak. Passing through few monasteries, we will arrive at Lho village where we will stay overnight.

• Day 16 : Lho to Sama Gaun (3530m)

  Brief walk of mere 3hrs is enough to take us from Lho to Sama Gaon via Sanagaon. Samagaon village offers panoramic mountain views. A day of rest at Samagaon is recommended.

• Day 17 : Acclimatization Day At Sama Gaun

  This is a rest day. We can either take side trip to Manaslu Base Camp or Birendra Kunda. Base Camp of Manaslu allows unobstructed views of Samdo, Nagdi chuli, Simnang Himal and Manaslu glacier. Birendra Kunda is an ice lake located near to Manaslu Base Camp.

• Day 18 : Sama Gaun to Samdo (3780m)

  Leave Sama Gaun and descend through the maniwall and chorten to Budhi Gandaki River. Move through the windy valley. Samdo is the last village in Manaslu village. Get views of Manaslu, Samdo (Pang phuchuli), Nagdi chuli and Manaslu glacier. Stay overnight in camp.

• Day 19 : Samdo to Larkya Base Camp (4480m)

  Leave Samdo village and take 4hrs of trek to Dharmasala. The trail continues along Budhigandaki River to Dharmasala. Leaving Dharmasala, we will reach the base of Larkya La Pass which is also known as Larkya Base Camp.

• Day 20 : Larkya Base Camp (phedi) to Bhimthang Via Larkya La Pass (5100m)

  2hrs of difficult climb from Larkya Base Camp will take us to the summit of Larkya La Pass. Enjoy the views of Himlung Mountain, Annapurna II Mountain, kangurung and Cheo Mountain. Lower down to Bhimtang. Bhimtang allows views of Lamjung and Manaslu Mountains.

• Day 21 : Bimthang to Tilje (2300m)

  After taking breakfast, we will descend to Surke River. Choosing the escalating trail through pine forest, we will reach Dudhkoshi River. Walking further, we will move in and out of Dharapani and proceed through Gho village to Tilje village for overnight stay.

• Day 22 : Tilje to Tal (1700m)

  Leave Tilje village and lower down to Tal via Marshyangdi valley.

• Day 23 : Tal to Syange (1130m)

  Cross Marshyangdi River and walk through Ghermu to the meadow. From Ghermu, take the ascending trail to Bahundanda and reach Nagdi. Brief walk from Ngadi will take us to Syange.

• Day 24 : Drive from Syange to Kathmandu

  Brief walk from Syange through Bulbule and Khudi villages will take us to Besisahar which is the district headquarters of Lamjung. From Besisahar, we will return to Kathmandu.

• Day 25 : Free Day At Kathmandu, Farewell Dinner with Typical Nepali Culture in Evening

  You can spend the day on your own. Go for shopping in Thamel or you can also choose any of the day tour packages. Farewell dinner will be served in the evening with typical Nepali culture.

• Day 26 : Departure

  After last minute preparation, you will be accompanied to Tribhuvan International Airport 3hours before the scheduled flight. Safe Journey!!!
