The Tamangs Heritage Trial takes you to one of the newest trekking trails in the Langtang Region of Nepal. The Tamangs living in the region are direct descendents of Tibetan people who migrated to this part of Nepal centuries ago. Every village in the region full of prosperous Tibetan culture that has been preserved for ages. This off the beaten trek holding scores of healing hot spring falls, natural beauty and cultural experience in abundance is truly an introductory trek that unfolds a part alpine beauty and maximum of authentic highland culture.

Because the infrastructure for tourism is still in the growing phase, what you get in this part of Nepal is local and authentic. This trek leads you through the popular Tamang village where many ancient Gompas (Monasteries) and Buddhist mani stones (praying rocks) are set around the village and even along the walking trail. To witness the natives working to produce materials like, mattresses and bamboo products, watching them cattle herding like a true cowboy, enjoying their nutritious organic foods and experiencing the contrasting lifestyle are noteworthy highlights of Tamang Heritage Trek.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival Day in Kathmandu (1350m/4428ft)

  Actually, Nepal opens in the air; just before the plane lands at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. If you are, lucky enough with the bright sunshine on your arrival day the wide range of soaring Himalayan Peaks to the North is a magnificent view. As you complete the immigration formalities of the airport and make your way out from the Arrivals Terminal, we would offer you a warm Nepalese welcome and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel in a private vehicle. At hotel, you will have a very easy check-in procedure. Let the flight exhaustion go off in the cozy hotel room. In the evening, we will offer you a welcome dinner in one of the finest cultural restaurants of the city.
• Day 2 : Drive to Syabrubesi (1,460m/4,790ft) 7-8 Hours’ Drive

  Today after the breakfast, our guide will transfer you to the bus station from where you drive northwards through the beautiful Nepalese countryside towrads Syabrubesi. Driving along the Trishuli River, you get a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, green terrace farms and small and beautiful hamlets with small markets. After seven to eight hours of bumpy ride along Nepalese mountainous road, our day will conclude at Syabrubesi. Syabrubesi is a small mid-hill town, which is a popular gateway to all the treks to Langtang Region.
• Day 3 : Trek to Gatlang (2,238m/7,342ft) 6 Hours Walk

  After the breakfast our trek officially kicks off. After a short comfortable walk, we ascend the hill from where we will be able to enjoy the perfect views of Goljang valley with Ganesh Himal and Gosaikunda range in the background. Then the trail descends down to the Goljang where we will stop for Lunch. The trial to Gatlang is full of religious Buddhist chortens and Mani walls and the walk is very pleasnat. Gatlang, a beautiful Tamang village is another three hours walk from Goljang, where we be staying tonight. On arriving Gatlang we will explore around the village where we can have plentiful opportunities to observe Tamang Culture. The pleasure of Tamang Heritage Culture begins at Gatlang.
• Day 4 : Trek to Tatopani (2,380m/7,808ft) 6-7 Hours Walk

  After the breakfast, we start descending to Thangbuchet which lies at the bank of the Bhotekoshi River. We will enjoy our lunch with perfect view of the Chilime Hydropower dam. After lunch your trail will ascends up until you get to the Tatopani (which translates to natural hot water spring) village. You have chance to take bath in natural hot springs on the lap of the mountains. Explore the mountainous Tamang Hamlet to know more about Tamang culture.
• Day 5 : Trek to Thuman (2,238m/7,342ft), 5- 6 Hours Walk

  We will head towards Nagthali (3,300m/1,0824ft) after the breakfast. Nagthali is open grassland with amazing views of snow-covered mountains. We enjoy the panoramic view Nagthali has to offer before heading further to Brimdang village, where we will stop for lunch. After lunch, we continue walking to Nagthali Danda. We will visit the local Gompa there and proceed to Thuman village. We will spend the night here in this Tamang village with Tibetan influence.
• Day 6 : Trek to Briddim (2,239m/7,345ft), 5-6 Hours Walk

  Some easy walking right after breakfast brings us to Timure village. The historical Rasuwagadi fort in Timure is a reminder of the Nepal Tibetan relations that have continued to exist for many centuries. We will have our lunch in Timure and then continue to walk toward Briddim, our destination for the day. You will love with a host family today and enjoy traditional cuisine. Some of the items of the local cuisine include plain rice, Tibetan bread, Syakpa (Sherpa Stew), Potato, Tibetan tea, Briddim wine and the likes. You have opportunity to observe the local indoor rituals and cultural practices with the host family as well as their customs. There will be cultural performances by the locals in the evening.
• Day 7 : Trek to Syabrubesi (1,460m/4,790ft), 3-4 Hours Walk

  We will have early breakfast and set out Syabrubesi via Wangel village. The day's walk will be light as the trail descends gently through villages with green terraced hills. We will spend the night at Syabrubesi.
• Day 8 : Drive to Kathmandu (1350m/4428ft), 8-9 Hours’ Drive

  From Syabrubesi we will drive along the same path we travaled on the second day of the trip and arrive to Kathmandu. Seven to eight hours of drive would bring us Kathmandu. On our arrival at Kathmandu we will drive in to our hitel. In the evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner together at cultural restaurant in Thamel.
• Day 9 : Departure from Kathmandu

  You can use the morning as per your wish. You can do some souvenir shopping. We will drive you to the airport for the departure and bid farewell wishing to welcome you back in Nepal very soon.
