Tent Peak which is also known as the Tharpu Chuli offers you magnificent panoramic views of majestic snow-capped mountains of the Annapurna region.It is also a short trekking peak climbing experience in the Annapurna region which is the way beyond simply trekking.The beautiful landscape at the trekking part adds another reason for choosing a climb to this spectacular Tent Peak.The trip includes the hike to the picturesque Annapurna Base Camp with few days of climbing that makes it a very popular trekking peak climbing in Annapurna region.

Equipment & Packing List
You are advised to consider the following equipment as essentials while packing for Tent Peak (Tharpu Chuli) Climbing with ABC trek Trip. Please use this list as a guideline. Adjustments to the list can be done according to your needs, interests, duration of your trip, a season of your trip, etc. You can find a variety of these gears to hire or buy in Kathmandu. The majority of the gears which are for sale in Kathmandu are locally manufactured (hence a lot cheaper) and some gears found here are imported from China and are obviously of better quality. You can find very high quality branded gears too in some famous stores here.

The gears in the list below with an asterisk (*) are also provided by Himalayan Recreation Treks included in the service but if you are choosy or want to use your own private piece, we encourage you to bring your own. Many of the personal climbing gears can be hired in the base camp, however, the quality of equipment at base camp can be not as high as those found in Kathmandu to hire.

Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

    A representative from ‘Himalayan Recreation’ will be there in Tribhuvan International Airport, waiting for you with a nameplate holding your name as you land in Kathmandu. He will pick you up and drive you all the way to our hotel where you will freshen up. A briefing regarding your tour package will be made and you will spend the peaceful night in our comforting bed.

  • Day 2 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu

    After early breakfast, we will take a full day guided tour of Kathmandu Valley whereby we will visit the UNESCO enlisted cultural heritage sites of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan. We will head to our hotel where evening dinner will be served.

  • Day 3 : Drive or Fly to Pokhara and Sightseeing in Pokhara

    Pokhara is a vibrant City of Lakes which is easily viable through road and air. A pleasant drive of 5hours through Prithvi Highway with scenic vistas of mountains, Trishuli River, paddy fields and terraces at the backdrop will eventually lead us to Pokhara where we will stay in a hotel at Lakeside.
    Alternatively, we can board a domestic flight from TIA which takes us high above Manaslu Mountain to Pokhara in 25minutes duration. We will be boating in Phewa Lake, visiting Barahi Temple, Seti Gorge, David Fall and Mahendra Cave prior to returning back to a hotel.

  • Day 4 : Drive to Nayapul Trek to Tikhedhunga

    Nearly 1.5 hours drive through the wide and well-paved road from Pokhara with Machhapuchhre Mountain at the background will lead us to Nayapul which marks the initiation of our thrilling trekking experience. Leaving the Main Road, we will take a casual stroll of about 5hours and advance by the way of Birethati located beside Modi River to make it to a pretty little village of Tikhedhunga.

  • Day 5 : Trek to Ghorepani

    Leaving Tikhedhunga behind, we will cross the suspension bridge over Bhurungdi Khola and walk past the colorful Magar Village of Ulleri prior to moving past rhododendron and oak forest to Nangethanti a bit far whence is positioned Ghorepani.

  • Day 6 : Trek to Poon Hill Trek to Tadapani

    Poon Hill is the hot spot among tourist famous for its best sunrise view. Thus our trekking for the day will begin rather early at about 4 am this day. Enjoying the close- up views of several mountains and the sunrise view from the apex, we will move ahead to our next destination- Tadapani which we will overcome as we pass through woods to Deurali and Banthanti.

  • Day 7 : Trek to Chhomrong

    The first facet of the trekking comprises walking past the mirk woods for about 45minutes to arrive at Chulle afterward the trekking trail continues forward by the way of villages to the bridge which when crossed, we will make it to Gurjung. Two hours walking distance far from Gurjung is located Chhomrong.

  • Day 8 : Trek to Dovan

    Crossing the bridge, we will move past the Village of Sinuwa afterward which the trekking trail proceeds further through the oak woods to Dovan.

  • Day 9 : Trek to Deurali

    From Dovan, the path continues to lower down through a jungle to bamboo. Advancing further, we will get past Ghandruk Phedi and cross the suspension bridge to be at Landruk which is the second largest village in the area. Passing through Pine woods famous for bird watching; we will cross the stream to arrive at Deurali.

  • Day 10 : Trek to Annapurna Base Camp

    Close to a couple of hours trekking from Deurali will lead us to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Indulging oneself in the epic views of Majestic Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhre Mountains, we will continue walking upward to Annapurna Base Camp.

  • Day 11 : Trek to Tent Peak Base Camp

    Advancing further by the way of barren and rocky terrain, we will cross small streams formed by melting snow and walk along the boulders to arrive at Tent Peak Base Camp where we will stay overnight.

  • Day 12 : Trek to High Camp

    It is going to be rather strenuous trekking as we need to clamber through the steep ridge making the way by fixing the cables to High Camp. Difficult it may sound, the views High camp allows is equally rewarding and makes the whole trekking worthy taking as it allows the 360-degree views of Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre Mountain and other mountains.

  • Day 13 : Reach Summit Back to Base Camp

    Wandering through the glacier, we will reach to the base of snow fluting. Fixing the ropes, we will ascend the difficult section of the mountain and eventually conquer the summit. Enjoying the scenic views from the top, we will return back to Base Camp.

  • Day 14 : Trek Back to Deurali

    14th day marks the return trip. We will pass through the rocky and barren landscapes through Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Deurali where we will stay overnight.

  • Day 15 : Trek to Chhomrong

    A casual stroll through Dovan will take us to Bamboo. Walking by the way of the dense woods of Bamboo, we will cross the stream to make it to Chhomrong where we will be staying overnight.

  • Day 16 : Trek to Ghandruk

    About 6 hours of walking past the series of downhill and uphill movements will eventually turn up at Ghandruk that happens to be the largest village in Annapurna Region with home-stay facility and allows the 180-degree views of several mountains.

  • Day 17 : Trek to Nayapul Drive to Pokhara

    Lowering down from Ghandruk, the trail stretches through the Modi Valley and traverses through Birethanti to Nayapul. 1.5-hour drive through the wide paved road will take us back to the hotel at the lakeside of Pokhara.

  • Day 18 : Sightseeing in Pokhara

    The 18th day is going to be a busy day as we will set out for Full Day guided Tour in the beautiful city of Lakes- Pokhara whereby we will be visiting Seti Gorge, Devi’s Fall, KI Singh bridge, Mahendra Cave and International Mountaineering Museum. The surreal tour for the day concludes with engaging in boating in the sparking Phewa Lake.

  • Day 19 : Drive Back to Kathmandu

    5 hours long scenic drive through Prithvi Highway will take us to Kathmandu where we will be conveyed to our hotel. We will enjoy the early evening meal and surrender ourselves to the comforting bed.

  • Day 20 : Departure

    We will assist in your last minute packing and then our representative will leave you to Tribhuvan International Airport from where you can return back to your home or yet another destination. We hope to serve you again.
