Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival at Paro (Elevation 2280 m) – Thimphu (Elevation 2320 m) (Distance: 54 km, 1 hr. drive)

  Our guide from Mystical Tours will be welcoming you at the Paro International Airport and escorts you to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. It will take 1 hr. of drive covering 55 km of distance. On the way, we will stop for a while to see Tamchog Monastery built by Thangthong Gyalpo (Popularly known as Lama Chazampa, which literally means, the Iron Bridge builder) in the 15th century. Thang Thong Gyalpo (1385-1464) was a Tibetan blacksmith saint who came to Bhutan in 1433 looking for Iron Ore. He built 108 Iron Bridges across Tibetan and Bhutan, out of which 8 were in Bhutan.
  Dinner and Overnight at Hotel Migmar or similar

• Day 2 : Thimphu Sightseeing – Paro (Elevation 2280 m, Distance 58 km, Drive Time 1 hour)

  After your breakfast, the day begins with visit to National Memorial Chorten, built in 1974 to honor our 3rd king, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuk (Father of Modern Bhutan). We proceed further uphill to Buddha Dordenma Statue, locally known as Buddha point. It is made of bronze and 169 ft. in height. You can get spectacular view of Thimphu valley from Buddha point. Next, you will visit Changangkha Lhakhang (Monastery), moving on to Takin Preserve at Motithang and Sangaygang Viewpoint. While returning, you may visit to Dupthop Lhakhang; it is one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan.
  After your Lunch, the visit to National Postal Museum will give you moments of worth remembering. You can get your own picture on Bhutanese Stamp impromptu. With your photo or your near and dear ones, you can get your personalized stamps. You can visit Painting School and Folk Heritage Museum on your next list. Bhutanese tradition has been preserved through painting Thangkas (sacred Buddhist religious scrolls).
  In the evening, you can visit Tashichho Dzong (Fortress). It is the seat of National Government and Central Monastic Body. After tiresome day’s visits, you can refresh yourself with tea or coffee in your hotel. Then you can stroll down the Thimphu streets experiencing the people and culture. You can buy souvenirs to your loved ones back home.
  Drive back to Paro.
  Dinner and Overnight at Metta Resort or similar.

• Day 3 : Paro (Hiking) (Elevation 2280 m)

  After your early breakfast today, you will have delightful excursion to Taktsang Monastery, it’s a breath-taking sight and wonderful treat to your eyes. The monastery clings to the edged-rocky cliffs above 900 meters above Paro Valley. According to the legend, this monastery was built in 1684 by a tantric mystic namely Guru Rinpochoe flew here on the back of flying tiger, Dorji Drolo who is believed to be his favourite consort. In the evening, you’ll visit Drukgyel Dzong which was built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in 1644 to commemorate the victory over the Tibetan invaders. Then you can stroll down the Paro town where you can always find Bhutanese authentic handicrafts which can be good souvenirs and remembrances of this exotic and serene Himalayan Kingdom ‘Bhutan’.
  Dinner and Overnight at Metta Resort or similar

• Day 4 : Paro (Departure)

  In the morning, it’s a farewell drive to the Airport at Paro.
