See the streets of Bucharest with a guide who used to live on them for a different kind of look at the city. Join a formerly homeless local to see the sights, learn about the daily challenges of street living, and support efforts to help the city's most vulnerable residents.

Your tour starts in front of the National Theatre, a historic space that has hosted famous plays, but also stands in an area where many homeless children have lived for the past 25 years. Your guide shares their stories as you walk you through the neighborhood.

As a joint initiative with the local homeless population and a Romanian NGO, this tour aims to support homeless children, youth, and families while showing you Bucharest's main attractions in an unusual way. Having gained sustainable employment through this program, your guides are empowered with the chance to tell their own stories with authority and authenticity.

During the tour, you can see the University Passage and University Square, a site of student protests in the 1990s. Learn the modern secrets of Old Town, like where illegal parties are still held in squatted buildings and how those living on the streets get food from the nearby restaurants for free.

After more historic tales at Unirii Square, your tour makes its final stop at the headquarters of the Parada Foundation, the organization behind this project.
