Arrival in Delhi and proceed for half day sightseeing of Old Delhi. See the historic Red Fort & the nearby Jama Masjid, the citys most important and grandest mosque. Following this you can walk through the hustle and bustle of the Chandni Chowk markets. Overnight at hotel.
The day will start with a visit to New Delhi which came into existence much later, and is also known as Lutyens Delhi, in the name of a British architect who was largely responsible in designing India Gate, The Presidential House, Secratariat, Parliament House and many other buildings in central Delhi. Visit the lotus Temple and then drive on to see the tallest tower in Delhi, known as Qutub Minar. Overnight at hotel.
Depart for Agra early in the morning. The first stop will be Sikandra on the Delhi-Agra highway - The tomb of Akbar the Great & the first monument in Agra built in white marble and red sandstone. The next stop will be the Taj Mahal -The world famous mausoleum of Shah Jahans wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj has been aptly described by the great Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore as a teardrop on the face of time.
Start the day with a visit to The Etmad Ud Daulah- a Mughal mausoleum often described as a 'Jewel box' & also referred to sometimes as the 'Baby Tāj'. Then visit the Mehtab Bagh (Moonlight Garden), an extension of the Taj Mahal Gardens- on the other side of the river. The Mahtab Bagh was lost under the mud but re-excavated in the 1990s. Originally, the garden was planted with fragrant flowers and used in the cool of the night as a place from which to view the Taj Mahal reflected in the octagonal pool. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Depart for Jaipur visiting Fatehpur Sikri en route, the now deserted city built by Emperor Akbar. Though the city took 15 years to build, it was abandoned after only 14 years because the water supply was unable to sustain the growing population. The surviving palace and mosque are a tourist attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Arrive in Jaipur and check into the hotel. Evening free for shopping. For dinner you can enjoy an excursion to Chowki Dhani for a taste of authentic Rajasthani cuisine. Overnight at hotel.
The beautiful city of Jaipur epitomizes the spirit of Rajputana. Popularly known as the Pink City because of the extensive use of the locally abundant pink plastered stone. Start the day with a visit to the Amber Fort Palace and enjoy a ride on the back of a decorated elephant to the top of the fort. Next stop will be the City Palace- a delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture followed by Jantar Mantar- a 18th century observatory. The last monument of the day will be the Hawa Mahal- the palace of winds. Spend the evening at leisure.
