Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : NJP/Bagdogra to Gangtok Via Sevok - Tista Bazaar

  Our representative cordially receives you on arrival at Siliguri (NJP R St. / Bagdogra IXB) and helps you to board the car.We drive to Gangtok along the NH 31A. The landscape changes dramatically as we leave Siliguri and run through the dense forests Mahananda Wild Life Sanctuary, the natural play ground of wild elephant, tiger and deer. Now you reach at Sevok just at the base of the hills. See the gorgeous view of Tista river as it comes out from the deep gorge of the Himalayas and spreads itself in the vast plains on North Bengal. Now the journey follows the winding roads along the meandering emerald green River Tista. Spend some time on some scenic spots on the way to enjoy the landscape. Gangtok the capital town of Sikkim the earlier Himalayan Kingdom welcomes you with its typical traditional Hospitality.
  
  We assist you to check in at hotel. Get refreshed and have free leisure evening. We recommend a relaxed evening and short walk around The Mall to enjoy the typical Hill City life of Gangtok in the twilights. Car Service Till drop at Hotel.

• Day 2 : Gangtok City Tour

  Today after breakfast we take you to a full day city tour in and around Gangtok. Visit Government Institute of Cottage Industry (Closed on Sunday, 2nd Saturday) where beautiful souvenirs like carpets, hand carved tables (choktses), traditional handcrafts, furniture, hand looms carpets and other products are produced & exhibited for sale. Visit Orchid House to see or buy some rare orchids and ornamental plants. We also take you to Sikkim Research Institute of Tibetology, which holds world's largest collection of books and rare manuscripts on the subject of Mahayana Buddhism plus many religious works of art and incredibly finely executed silk embroidered Thangkas (paintings). Just beside the institute is the Dodurl Chorten encircled by 108 prayer wheels built by late Trulsi Rimpoche in 1945-46. This is one of the most important and biggest stupas found in Sikkim.
  
  Now we take you to the most important religious place of Sikkim – The Rumtek Dharma Chakra Center, 24kms from Gangtok. Built in 1960 by His Holiness the late 16th Gyalwa Karmapa it is a replica of the original Kagyurpa Monastery in Tsurphu, Tibet, the seat of His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa Rinpoche, head of the Karmapa sub sect of Kargyudpa order of Tibetan Buddhism. It now functions as the headquarters of the Dharma Chakra Religious Centre. Walk to the Shri Nalanda Institute for Higher Buddhist Studies just adjacent to the Monastery Building.
  
  While coming back from Rumtek visit Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden with well tended tropical and temperate plants and orchids. Stop for a while at the Shanti View Point to enjoy the panoramic view of the Gangtok valley. Back to Hotel for lunch. Car Service from 9.00AM to 2.00PM
  
  After lunch have a free afternoon or optional visit to 3 famous view points at Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok from where you can see the panoramic view of entire Gangtok town and valley along with the magnificent Kunchenjungha can be seen. Visit to the temple at Honuman Tok to offer prayer and return to hotel. Car service from 3PM to 5.30PM.
  
  Recommended afternoon activities: Leisure evening walk along the quiet ridge park road and enjoy the beauty of the hills.

• Day 3 : Gangtok to Tsongo Lake

  After a heavy breakfast we take you to famous Tsongo Lake at 12000ft (3600M). We start at 8.30 AM in the morning from hotel. You have whole day to enjoy snow and Yak ride at the scenic high altitude alpine lake near Indo-Tibet border. The 1 km long and 15m deep lake is considered sacred to the local people. The pristine clear water remains frozen during winter. Have fun with snow and enjoy exciting Yak ride around the lake. Back to Hotel by 2.30 PM for lunch and have a leisure afternoon or roam around the market for personal activities. (Optional trip for Indian tourists to legendary Baba Mandir and Nathula Pass on Indo-China border can be arranged on specific days on specific request with add on cost) Car service from 8.30AM to 2.30 AM.
  
  Recommended activities – Take a ride to Rope way or go for a helicopter Joy Ride over the Himalayas. Evening visit to M G Marg, the busy market of Gangtok, for shopping and having Sikkimese delicacy at the local restaurant.

• Day 4 : Gangtok to Lachung

  Your tour to North Sikkim starts today. Have breakfast and proceed to Lachung by 8.30AM. Visit Tashi View Point on the way for panoramic view of the snow peaks. As the journey continues from Gangtok, the route meanders through small villages flanked by fields and valleys until it hits the forest grove of Kabi Langchuk. Shinghik comes next with its promises of one of the most glorious views of Kunchanjungha. Situated at an altitude of over 4000ft Singhik offers a desired break to the travelers on the way to Lachen or Lachung for the magnificent view of Kunchenjungha. We will have our lunch on the way. Visit Chungthang- the confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachun Chu (river) and Vimnala falls water falls on your way to Lachung. Reach Lachung in the afternoon. Check is at Hotel and have free evening. Car Service Till drop at Lachung Hotel.
  
  Suggested activity: Meet the local people and stroll around the typical village people of Tibetan origin.

• Day 5 : Lachung to Yumthang

  Today morning at 8.30AM we take you to Yumthang (24kms) – the valley of flowers at 12000ft (3600M). The journey from Lachung to Yumthang offers an unforgettable virgin landscape covered with rhododendron bushes and 108 other types of Orchids which bloom in different colours from April to May. The entire area goes under snow during November to March. The hot springs and mesmerizing scene with yaks grazing on flower - carpeted meadows on the backdrop of snow peaks are the added attractions. Spend some spellbound time at the valley and return to Lachung. Lunch at Hotel.
  
  After Lunch roam around the little village on the bank of Lachung river – one of the sources of Tista, and enjoy the beauty of nature that surrounds you. Also visit to the small Monastery at Lachung. Car service: 7.30Am to 12.00noon.(Optional visit to Yumesamdong (15300ft, 4600M) 26kms further Yumthang close to Tibetan border and to Katao, 25kms from Lachung at 15000ft (4500M) can be arranged on special request with add on cost. Both of these places are famous for the snow view and landscape beauty.

• Day 6 : Lachung Lachen

  After breakfast visit Lachung monastery and 3.hrs drive to the only 2nd heritage village of Sikkim. The beautiful village is the home of the lichen people who came and settle during the Chinese invasions to Tibet. Chek in to hotel and rest of the time leisure time to study the village culture and visit the monastery. Over night at lichen.

• Day 7 : Lachen Gurudhangmar Lake to Gangtok

  Drive to Gurudhangmar Lake Guru Dongmar Lake ( 17,800 ft.)It is considered as one of the sacred lakes of the State both by the Buddhism and the Hindus. The Lake remains milky in colour throughout the year and it is believed that Guru Padmasambhava blessed. It is while returning from Tibet. A portion of lake does not freeze even in the winter time. Its 300ft above Mansarovar lake in Tibet. on the way visit visit Thangu and chopta Valley drive Back to Lachen and drive to Lachen after cup of hot tea and snacks proceed to Gangtok via Chunthang. Reach Gangtok in the afternoon. Check in at Hotel and relax. Car service till drop at Gangtok Hotel. Suggested evening activities: Visit to M G Marg, the busy market of Gangtok, for shopping and having Sikkimese delicacy at the local restaurant.

• Day 8 : Gangtok to Kalingpong

  Drive to Kalimpong (70Kms. 4300ft). The first phase of the journey passes through the dense forest of Mahananda Wild Life Sanctuary. The Great Tista accompanies you as you take the winding uphill road from Sevok. Check in at hotel. Free evening for marketing of local traditional crafts in the downtown market. And don’t miss the king Thai restaurant with live music (ONH: Kalimpong).

• Day 9 : Kalingpong Sightseeing

  Morning visit to flower nurseries of Kalimpong (this small town is the leading flower producer of India). Visit to the 300 years old Bong monastery, picturesque Delo Top and Durpin Dara top for panoramic view of the Himalayas. (ONH: Kalimpong). Free evening for marketing of local traditional crafts in the downtown market rest and leisure time at the hotel. (ONH: Kalimpong).

• Day 10 : Departure

  Kalingpong to Bagdora Air port or NJP Railway Station tour concludes with some sweet memories of queen of Hills.
