Cycling from Inle Lake to Taunggyi Package

Package Overview

This Myanmar adventure will start from Inle Lake, a huge natural lake over 800 meter height to ocean water level. You will need an added flight from Yangon/Bagan/Mandalay. We are about to take a cycling tour to the frontier area where is nearly untouched by tourism Taunggyi then keep the biking back to the lake via stunning roads. The real biking challenge can satisfy all bikers due to its perfect combination of hardship, natural beauty and unique ethnic culture on the way.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : From Yangon/Bagan/Mandalay - fly to Heho – Kakku- Taunggyi

  Our Myanmar adventure tour guide collects you at Heho airport and transfer to the biking shop/checkpoint. After greetings, we will hop on our bike and start up with a bike on smooth and plain road to Ayetharyar, that is 30km aways. Next we drive to Taunggyi on uphill road. Taunggyi is, the capital of the Shan state and former British colonial hill station with a magnificent descent of nearly 2,000 feet to Inle Lake.
  After lunch at Taunggyi for full energy we start biking to Kakku, passing via Taunggyi. Kakky is lesser known place and you can meet many Pa O people in their daily working activities. Your biking road today is mountainous through mountains and jungle-lined roads from Taunggyi to Kakku villages. Take a visit to a pagoda then drive or bike back to Taunggyi. Dinner and overnight.

• Day 2 : Taung Gyi – Nyaung Shwe - Inle

  This morning is for breakfast and a short drive uphill to Taunggyi. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy wonderful view of the city. After enjoying the scenery, you can start your downhill bike from here to Shwe Nyaung Junction, entrance town to Inle lake via plenty of wonderful view of mountain and lake.
  There, you will get on a beautiful boat trip to explore the life of Intha people who is famous for one leg rower.
  Check in the resort in the middle of the lake and spend our time to discover local traditional works such as making boat, black smith, silk weaving and enjoy the uniqueness of Jumping Cat pagoda.
  Back to your resort in the late afternoon.

• Day 3 : Inle Lake Tour

  Visit one of the most unique market on Inle lake which happens 5 days in different villages in Inlayarea : the Indein market. There is no better chance to behold the scene of Pa-O, Padang tribes in their traditional dresses.
  Our guide will offer you some visit to local habitat of Pa-O people in Indein.

• Day 4 : Inle Lake to Kalaw Highlands

  After a leisurely breakfast admiring the sun rising over the lake, we’ll depart by bikes climbing up from the lake on quiet roads for the short but challenging climb into the scenic country side to Kalaw. Today, we will enjoy a biking up and down hill to visit local tribes, experience their daily life. From Pa-O village to Palaung habitat, we will discover the differences in culture and lifestyle while you are offered to behold the great mountain view from your biking route.

• Day 5 : Kalaw to Pindaya

  Today, cycling due north to Pindaya on a rolling empty road flanked by beautiful manicured fields from where much of Myanmar’s produce comes from. The area is rich with a diversity of hill tribes and we will pause to visit some of the villages en route. After we reach Pindaya, strolling the small town’s sites and LakeFront, visit the famous Pindaya caves, filled with hundreds of Buddha statues. After, we’ll enjoy the sunset from the hill side over the lake. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel in Pindaya.

• Day 6 : Pindaya – Inle - Heho departure
