1 Nights / 2 Days
Start your day early to make the most of your limited time in Bangkok.
Morning (8:00 AM - 1:00 PM): Grand Palace and Temples
Begin at the Grand Palace, the most iconic landmark in Bangkok. This sprawling complex was the official residence of the Kings of Thailand and is home to the sacred Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha). Allocate at least 2-3 hours to explore the stunning architecture and intricate details.
From the Grand Palace, walk a short distance to Wat Pho, also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. This temple houses a massive, 46-meter-long reclining Buddha statue covered in gold leaf. It's also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage.
For a different perspective, take a quick cross-river ferry to Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). Admire its unique, porcelain-encrusted spires, which are especially beautiful in the morning light.
Afternoon (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM): Lunch and Departure to Pattaya
Grab a quick and delicious lunch at a local restaurant near the temples.
Around 2:00 PM, depart from Bangkok for Pattaya. You can pre-book a private car or take a bus. A private car is highly recommended for its convenience and speed, allowing you to maximize your time. The drive should take about 2 hours, depending on traffic.
Late Afternoon/Evening (5:00 PM onwards): Arrival in Pattaya and Nightlife
Check into your hotel in Pattaya.
Head to The Sanctuary of Truth, an enormous all-wood temple with intricate carvings that showcases ancient Thai craftsmanship and Buddhist and Hindu motifs. It's a breathtaking structure, and you can catch a glimpse of the sunset here.
For dinner, explore the area around Pattaya Beach or Jomtien Beach. You'll find a wide variety of restaurants, from fresh seafood to international cuisine.
After dinner, experience Pattaya's famous nightlife on Walking Street. This vibrant street is closed to vehicle traffic at night and is packed with bars, clubs, and live entertainment. For a more unique experience, consider seeing a world-renowned cabaret show like Tiffany's Show or Alcazar Cabaret Show.
Morning (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM): Coral Island (Koh Larn)
Escape the mainland for a few hours and take a speedboat to Koh Larn (Coral Island). This nearby island offers pristine white-sand beaches and crystal-clear water, a stark contrast to Pattaya Beach.
Enjoy a variety of water activities like swimming, snorkeling, parasailing, and jet-skiing. You can also simply relax on the beach with a fresh coconut. Many tour operators offer half-day trips that include transport and lunch.
Afternoon (1:00 PM - 5:00 PM): City Views and Cultural Stops
Return to Pattaya and have lunch.
Visit Pattaya Viewpoint on Pratumnak Hill for a panoramic view of the crescent-shaped Pattaya Bay and the city skyline. It's a great spot for photos.
From the viewpoint, you can make a stop at the Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai), also located on Pratumnak Hill. It features a massive golden Buddha statue and offers a serene atmosphere.
If you have time and interest, you could visit a unique attraction like Art in Paradise, an interactive 3D art museum, or Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, a beautiful botanical garden with cultural shows.
Evening (5:00 PM onwards): Shopping and Departure
Spend your final hours exploring a market or shopping mall. The Pattaya Floating Market is a popular choice for souvenirs and local food. Alternatively, Central Festival Pattaya Beach is a large mall with international brands and a variety of dining options.
