Day 1 : Guest Pick Up from Chandigarh/ Amritsar Sightseeing
Guest picked up from preferred location in Chandigarh and we start Amritsar tour. Upon Amritsar arrival guest checks into a hotel. We see Golden Temple and Jallian Wala Bagh
Golden Temple (Harmander Sahib): The Golden temple is a globally renowned architectural marvel which is highly revered among Sikhs. The upper half of the temple is built with about 400 kg of pure gold leaf. The shrine is historic as a Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das, initially constructed a pool here and founded Amritsar. A very old tree, planted 450 years ago in its compound, is a major attraction for the devotees. It was planted by the temple's 1st high priest. It is a common belief that the tree holds special powers. Really, the Harmander Sahib is a matter of experience rather than description. You feel a strange spiritual power once you get inside the temple. Some popular spots to visit within the sacred premises of the Golden temple are the Akal Takht, Har Ki Pauri, Jujube Tree, Gurudwara Ilachi Ber etc.
Jallian Wala Bagh: This spot has a special place in the story of India’s freedom movement. A memorial here commemorates the 2000 Indians who were killed or injured after indiscriminate shooting by the British army in 1919. The incident is considered very significant in the history of India’s freedom movement. A wall with marks of bullet is well-kept-up along with a well in which innocent people jumped to escape the deadly firing.
Day 2 : We See Gobindgarh Fort and Ram Tirath
Gobindgarh fort: This recently renovated fort is a great thing of attraction in Amritsar. It was earlier known as Bhangian Da Kila, as its foundation was laid by Bhangi misl community’s leader. It was renamed as Gobindgarh after the last Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh. It was a symbolic representation of Punjab in such a way that anyone who conquered it was believed to have conquered the Punjab itself.
Ram Tirath: An ancient spot, considered as seer Valmiki's hermitage, is located 11 Km West of Amritsar. It dates back to Ramayana period. A hut marks the site where Sita gave birth to her sons Luv and Kush. Some people of Punjab trace their descent from sons of Sita. Night rest.
Day 3 : We Visit Wagah Border
Wagah Border: Wagah is an army outpost on India-Pakistan border between Lahore and Amritsar. It is the international border between two countries. Tourists visit this place for the spectacle of the Beating Retreat and Change of Guard of the Indian and Pakistani forces. Soldiers bring down their respective national flags in perfect drill.
