Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Kodai Road to Sirumalai

  Sirumalai Lake consists of a small lake that was formed artificially in 2010. This is a man-made lake. This lake is bordered by tall, verdant trees. Boating is accessible only on weekends when there is ample water in the lake.
  When Lord Hanuman had to look for a certain herb and not find it the hill became popular, and he had to take the whole hill with him to cure Lord Laxmanan. A piece dropped down here on his way back from Sri Lanka with the hill, and it became known as Sanjeevani Hills. This hill is
  part of the Hills of Sirumalai.
  A region of 819 square kilometers (316 sq mi) surrounds the basin. The total surface area of the sub-basin is 4,279.89 hectares (10,575.8 acres). Saathiyar Dam has been installed across this river for irrigation purposes near Vadipatti. This is the Saathiyar Dam catchment area in
  Madurai.
  The famous temple of Lord Murugan (Vellimalai Murugan Temple) is located in the mountain that climbs over the valley 45 minutes away. In the surrounding villages and cities, this temple is renowned.
