It is definitely worth the climb (252m), as you will have the best view of the town including the coast, and the Bay of Tauranga. The trail around the Mount is accessible to all ages. The Mount used to be a Maori Fort.
Visit a kiwi fruit farm, and see the whole process of growing to packing. A guide in a little train will show you the different fruits as well as give you taste tests. You will not believe the different products that can be made from the kiwi fruit.
Tauranga is the base for boat rides, and deep-sea fishing where you will have the opportunity to try to get that big Marlin.
