Vadodara is a city of Gujarat and is also counted as the third largest city of the state. It also ranks as the 18th largest city in the country. The city is a reached by many travellers throughout the year for scads of reasons.
Climate and Geography
The city is situated on the shores of Vishwamitri River in the central Gujarat and is located on the elevation of 39 metres (123 feet). The city precisely sprawls between the Mahi & Narmada Rivers and it is Vishwamitri that parts Vadodara into two distinct regions; eastern and western.
According to Köppen's Climate classification, Vadodara has a tropical savanna climate (Aw). The city experiences three main seasons: summer, monsoon and winter. The climate in the city is mainly dry and is wet only in monsoon. March to July are the hot months of the year and January is the chilliest month of the year. The humid climate can be experienced in mid-June to mid-September. The average rainfall of the city is recorded as 93 cm (37 in).
