Dochu La Pass and its Druk Wangyal Chorten and Lhakhang is where we will drive for in an hour drive. Its majestic landscape will offer you a 360-degree panoramic view of beautiful far distant snow-peaked Himalayas especially on a clear sunny day.
After Lunch, we move towards Phobjikha Valley. Upon arrival we check-in Hotel and set out for following sightseeing:
    Gangtey Valley
    Gangtey Goemba

  • Day 3 : Gangtey Goemba - Gogona Village

The Great Gangtey trek commences today from Tabiting Village to Gogona Village, a total of 15 kilometers taking us about 6 to 7 hours to complete. The trail winds gradually upwards through meadows and fields at an elevation of 3100 m, ascending to Tsele-la pass (3 ,400 m/11155 ft.) where we stop for lunch. It then descends gradually for some time through forests of junipers, bamboo, magnolias and rhododendrons to Gangak (3020 m/9908 ft.).

It is rough and rocky and weaves through trees where pack animals have created deep muddy furrows. After a last short climb, we will reach Gogona (3100 m/10171 ft.) village, a beautiful hilltop site overlooking a long valley. Nearby is Gogona Lhakhang and dozens of poles with white prayer flags fluttering. The people of Gogona were originally nomads and they speak a language called Bjopkha (language of nomads).

If you like to relax with a cup of local vodka known as aara, a 30-minute walk beyond Gogona is a hamlet where you may find homemade arra from local women who also weave blankets. We camp for overnight at Zasa.

  • Day 4 : Gogona - Khotokha Village

After a healthy breakfast, we start hiking towards our destination for the day Khotokha village. It is about 16 kilometers away and will take us about 6 to 7 hours to complete. It is about 450 meters of ascent and 860 meters of descent making it easy compared to yesterday's hike.

We start with a gentle climb up above Gogona village, past flocks of sheep and cultivated fields. Climbing into a forest of firs, oak, spruce, dwarf rhododendrons, cypress trees, juniper and miniature azaleas can be a charmingly fun experience as you capture it on camera on the go. You can also find a yellow flowered plant called Daphne that is used for hand-made paper in Bhutan.

A gentle climb then leads to Shobju La Pass (3410 m/1188 ft.). We gradually make a descent from the pass into a wide valley surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges. The trail will overlook Khotokha, a village of about a little more than 60 houses. Hiking through a beautiful valley, we will finally arrive at the campsite (3330 m) near four chortens known as Chorten Karpo, built as monument to the four Je Khenpos who came from this valley.

  • Day 5 : Khotokha - Chazam - Wangdue Phodrang

On the last day of the trail, we hike from Chorten Karpo of Khotokha village to Tikki Zampa or else known as Chazam. The trek is a total of 12 kilometers taking us about 4 to 5 hours to complete. It includes about 120 meters of ascent and mostly descent of about 1340 meters.

A short climb from campsite at Chorten Karpo will take us to Tashi La Pass (2800 m/9186 ft.) forest road. From here, it is an easy downhill hike through dense rhododendrons, ferns, dwarf bamboo and magnolias. Ornithologist claims that this trail is one of the finest bird watching areas in Bhutan with endangered species such as Great Pied Horn Bull in the area.

Once we are at the Tikki Zampa (1300 m/4265 ft) we get on board and drive to our hotel in Wangdue Phodrang for about 45 minutes. On our way, we can visit Radak Neykhang and the restoration site of the New Dzong. Wangdue Phodrang Dzong which was about 374 years old was tragically burnt to ground on 24th June 2012 and ever since its reconstruction work has begun and it is expected to complete by 2021.

  • Day 6 : Wangdue Phodrang - Chimi Lhakhang - Talo Gomba - Punakha

We start the day in a warmer valley of Wangdue Phodrang by visiting Rinchengang Lhakhang located at the hilltop overlooking the Wangdue Phodrang dzong restoration site, bridge and Punatsang chhu. Driving downhill we visit Eight Chortens located at the bank of Punatsang Chhu and experience the majestic river up close. Crossing the bridge, we head into the Bajo town.

At the Bajo town, we will explore its market along with the vegetable market before visiting its temple, Bajo Lhakhang. Continuing upstream of the river we head to visit Thangoo Lhakhang. We will then drive to Matalungchu and visit its temple.

Then we travel towards Punakha, on the way we stop for following sightseeing:
    Chimi Lhakhang
    Nalanda Buddhist College
    Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery
Once we are ready to head back to hotel for rest of the evening, we will ride our bikes on instead of hopping on a car. We begin biking downhill for about 45 minutes where, all you need to do is keep a strong grip on the break and maneuver per speed your body and the bike can handle.

  • Day 7 : Punakha - Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten - Gasa

We drive upstream of Mo Chhu for about 30 minutes to the base of the hill on which Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten (2250 m/7382 ft.) stands majestically overlooking the Punakha valley. It is an easy hike taking us about 2 hours to complete.

We then drive towards Gasa (2850 m/9350) via beautiful village of Tashithang and Damji for about 30 to 45 minutes where our camp site is located. At Gasa Dzong built on a slope facing east, you will find its administrative headquarter and monk body with a legend that the deity of Gasa traveled to Tsari Kibuthang in Tibet to greet Zhabdrung when He was making his way to Bhutan.

Gasa is a home to its famous hot spring (Gasa Tshachu) and the Jigme Dorji National Park (JDNP), the second largest national park in Bhutan with an area of 4316 sq. km (1680 sq. miles). It spans across 5 districts, namely Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Wangdue Phodrang and Gasa. We will visit its headquarter based in Damji to explore more information on its bio-diversities before we go dipping into hot spring later at a tranquil night.

  • Day 8 : Gasa - Punakha - Rafting & Kayaking in Punatsang Chhu

Once we arrive at Punakha from Gasa, we will visit Punakha Dzong, second oldest dzong built during Zhabdrung's era which is arguably the most beautiful dzong in Bhutan with its characteristic location at the confluence of the two rivers of Punatsang Chhu surrounded by lilac colored jacaranda trees.

Taking a leisure stroll along the Pho Chhu we arrive at the Suspension Bridge located beside the dzong connecting it with villages such as Shengana, Samdingkha and Wangkha. It is the longest of its kind in Bhutan and offers you stunning view of Pho Chhu and valleys around the villages and Dzong. Our rafting and kayaking team will be waiting for us at a bank of this magnificent river.

Filled with an adrenaline rush you get onto a boat and raft your way through the rapids of Punatsang Chhu. Our professional rafting team will lead us for the rafting site near the river. We will change into a comfortable and safe rafting attire and listen to instructions from the instructor.
Later in the evening, we will go on a leisure stroll along the Punakha - Gasa highway and into the Ritsha village. It is located alongside the Mochu and is famous for rice farming of both red and white local rice. Ritsha means 'at the base of a hill' surrounded with beautiful vegetable gardens, paddy fields and oranges and papaya trees.

  • Day 9 : Punakha - Lamperi - Dochu La - Lungchutse - Thimphu

We leave beautiful Punakha valley and drive towards the capital city. Before climbing up the Dochu La hilly highway, we will stop to visit the Royal Botanical Garden located in the heart of Lamperi which homes about 46 species of Rhododendrons, 115 species of ferns, 46 species of avifauna and a popular birding destination. You can try peddling a boat across the Lamperi lake and try to identify various flora and fauna species as you come across them.

Once at Dochu La Pass, we have you another fascinating easy hike to the Lungchutse Lhakhang. It is a gentle two and half hour hike to Lungchutse Lhakhang. You will enjoy walking through a fresh air vegetation of hemlock, birch, juniper, bamboo and rhododendron shrubs.
Later in the evening you can take a relaxing stroll in the town stopping for coffee or beverages and some shopping spree at Arts & Crafts Market. If you rather prefer to visit a sauna and spa, we can prepare for the strenuous hike to the famous Tiger's Nest tomorrow. We can experience an unusual buzz of Thimphu city with Karaoke night and dinner before retiring for the night.

  • Day 10 : Thimphu - Paro - Tiger's Nest Temple

We start famous Taktsang hike, you can choose to ride a horse from the parking lot to the monasteries with your own expenses. If the full hike sounds a bit tough, you can hike for 1 hour to the cafeteria - a wooden tea-house restaurant which offers a good view of the monastery.

After your successful hike, you will be dropped off to your hotel and enjoy your dinner

  • Day 11 : Departure from Paro

We will prepare you for your flight back home or towards your next destination. Noting your suggestions and comments we look forward to meeting you again.
