Journey to the Center of the Himalayas Tour

Upon your arrival in Paro International Airport, you shall be greeted by a aCholala Tours & Travels representatives and he/she shall brief you about the tours, itinerary, inclusions as well as cultural practices of Bhutan including Do’s and Don’ts. The distance between Paro and Thimphu is about 65 kms and will take about an hour. On the way, we will visit Tachog Lhakhang located on a hilltop across Pa Chhu connected by an ancient iron bridge built in the late 13th and early 14th century by Thangtong Gyalpo
After reaching Capital City we will check- in to your hotel and break for lunch. After lunch, we begin our sightseeing to the following:
Buddha Dordenma
National Memorial Chorten of Bhutan
Trashichhoe Dzong
Then you will be taken to your hotel, you can enjoy your dinner and plan for next trip.

Our journey to Gangtey Goemba in Phobjikha Valley begins today with a visit to Simtokha Dzong on our way towards Dochula Pass. Then We drive for about 45 minutes before stopping at a stunning landscape of Dochu La Pass, Druk Wangyel Lhakhang and Druk Wangyel Chortens. It offers a majestic 360-degree beautiful panoramic view with far flung snow-peaked Himalayas especially on a clear sunny day.

Upon reaching our destination you will see the Goemba enjoys the valley’s prime location on a forested hill overlooking the green expanse of the Phobjikha valley. The very first visit we will make after Gantey Goemba is the Black-Necked Crane Information Center of the Royal Society for Protection of Nature.

Then you will be drop by your hotel.

We leave beautiful Black-Necked Crane valley behind and drive for about 40 minutes to Pele La Pass at 3420 meters (11220 ft.) elevation. It is one of the most beautiful drive east offering access to central Bhutan over the Black Mountains, the physical boundary between western and central Bhutan.

On the way, we will visit Chendebji Chorten which is a patterned-on Kathmandu's Swaymbhunath Stupa with eyes painted at four cardinal points. Once at Trongsa, we will visit
Trongsa Dzong
Ta Dzong

Later in evening we drop you by your hotel.

After your breakfast, we head towards Bumthang Valley. Upon reaching there we set out for our sightseeing to the following;
Jakar Dzong
Lhodrak Kharchhu
Chakar Lhakhang
Then we break out for lunch and after lunch we continue our sightseeing to the following places;
Kurjey Lhakhang
Tamshing Lhakhang
Kenchosum Lhakhang
After your sightseeing, you will be drop back to your hotel, where you can enjoy your delicious dinner and plan for the next trip.

The final day of our excursion begins with an early morning drive towards the famous Burning Lake - Mebar Tsho located along the way to the Tang village over the feeder road and is about 30 minutes’ drive away.

We then continue our expedition further east towards beautiful Ura valley for about hour and half through beautiful conifer mountains, valleys, farms and pastures. Shelthang La Pass at 3600 meters above sea level will offer you with a magnificent view of Mt. Gangkar Puensum on a clear sunny day. the highest unclimbed mountain in Bhutan.

Driving for 30 minutes further from Ura, we will reach Shingkhar village at an elevation of 3400 meters where Dechen Chholing Goemba's majestic surroundings.

Then we drive to your hotel at Trongsa, where you will enjoy your delicious dinner and rest at leisure.

Today after your breakfast, we drive towards the Capital City. On the way, we will stop at Royal Botanical Garden in Lamperi located just below Dochu La Pass. We stop for lunch at an eatery in the warmer valley of Wangdue Phodrang.

Upon arriving to the city, we can take you for a leisure stroll into the buzzing town of Thimphu at Arts & Crafts Market near the Hotel Tashi Taj. It consists of many small traditional bamboo huts aligned below Norzin Lam showcasing various 13 Arts and Crafts unique to Bhutan.

Later you will be dropped to your hotel.

After breakfast, we travel to Paro. Then we set out for your sightseeing to the followings:
Drukgyel Restoration site
Choedu Goemba
Kichu Lhakhang
We then break for lunch in one of the local eateries (you can ask recommendations on restaurants to our guide)
Sightseeing continues at Paro to the following sites;
Rinpung Dzong
National Museum

After your sightseeing at Paro you will be dropped to your hotel, where you can enjoy your delicious dinner.

We start famous Taktsang hike, you can choose to ride a horse from the parking lot to the monasteries with your own expenses. If the full hike sounds a bit tough, you can hike for 1 hour to the cafeteria - a wooden tea-house restaurant which offers a good view of the monastery.

After your successful hike, you will be dropped off to your hotel and enjoy your dinner

Presenting to you a goodbye and see you again gift as we share a delightful breakfast together is not where our journey ends. It is a beautiful moment we cherish our time together until we see each other again, another time another place. As you take off so you take the cheerful memories of your visit and stay with us glancing for once last time the valleys of Paro before you start looking out of the window for the Himalayas.
