Reach Thattekkad post noon. We will be based at Hornbill Camp, an adventure and birding camp set on the side of the river Periyar by late afternoon. Hornbill Camp is an Eco Lodge with luxury cottage tents overlooking the bird sanctuary - a quiet retreat into nature. With over 275 species in such a small area, most of them Endemics, Thattekkad offers a rare view into the world of birding in Kerala. We will do kayaking, a great opportunity to discover the lowland forests on the opposite bank of the river at the river.

Today we will cycle to Edamalayar, a region of thickly forested areas and quiet rides along the country roads. After exploring the rain forests here, we will head back to the Hornbill Camp for lunch. Depart after lunch.
