    In Kathmandu

After breakfast we will visit Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath Stupa with Kathmandu Durbar square & Swoyambhunath stupa Situated 5 Kilometers east of Kathmandu city, Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple built in pagoda style has gilded roof and richly carved silver doors. Visitors will be permitted to view the temple from the east bank of Rivers Bagmati, entrance in the temple being strictly forbidden to all non-Hindus. Behind the temples are the cremation grounds. Later we will drive to Boudhanath Stupa Boudhanath Stupa is one of the most imposing landmarks of Kathmandu and is a center of Tibetan Buddhism. The stupa is built on a massive three level mandala style platform and is 36 meters (118 feet) in height said to be one of the biggest stupas in the world. The base of the stupa is adorned with 108 small images of the DhyaniAmitabha Buddha and inset with prayer wheels. Thousands of pilgrims circle the stupa in a clockwise direction each day spinning the prayer wheels. It is said that each spin of a prayer wheel is the equivalent of reciting the mantra. The stupa’s massive mandala makes it one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal. The ancient stupa is one of the largest in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We then drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square Kathmandu, the largest city of Nepal, is the political as well as the cultural capital of the country. Like any big city, Kathmandu has seen rapid expansion in the last decade, but despite the hustle and bustle so typical of metropolitan cities, its people remain as refreshingly friendly as ever. Retaining its ancient traditions, Kathmandu is blessed by a Living Goddess and is enriched by endless ceremonial processions and events that take to the streets every now and then with throngs of devotees seeking blessings. These religious festivals are steeped in legend and are quite a spectacle with chariot processions and masked dancers often possessed by the spirits of deities. Our next destination will be Swoyambhunath stupa also known as “Monkey Temple “ Another landmark on UNESCO WORLD Heritage Site Swoyambhunath stupa, rests on a hillock 3 km towards the western edge of Kathmandu and is one of the most important and the most sacred Buddhist shrines of Nepal. Legend has it that when Kathmandu Valley was a lake 2000 years ago, a single lotus flower grew at the center of the lake. When Saint Manjushree, the Bodhisatva drained the lake with a single slash of his sword, the lotus settled on top of a hill and magically turned into a stupa. Thus Swoyambhunath is also known as a Self-Created stupa. Transfer to Hotel for overnight. Overnight at Hotel Sacred Boutique or similar in Kathmandu [B/-/-]

  • Day 3

Drive to Pokhara (drive 250 kms) approx 7 to 8 hours

Today we will drive to Pokhara and upon reaching check in to hotel and enjoy rest of the day in leisure. Pokhara’s bewitching beauty has been the subject of many travel writers. Its pristine air, spectacular backdrop of snowy peaks, serene lakes and surrounding greenery make it ‘the jewel in the Himalaya’, a place of remarkable natural beauty. With the magnificent Annapurna range forming the backdrop and the serenity of three major lakes – Phewa, Rupa and Begnas – Pokhara is the ultimate destination for relaxation. Pokhara Valley is the end of the famous Annapurna Circuit and a gateway to some of the most famous long-distance treks in Nepal. It also offers plenty of rewarding short walks and day trips suitable for children and weary trekkers. It is the second largest city in Nepal and sits high on the list of ‘must visit’ places in Nepal. Rest of the evening will be free at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Murano or similar in Pokhara [B/-/-]

  • Day 4

Drive to Nayapul & trek to Ghandruk via Birethanti (4-5 hours trek)

The first day of our Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins in the scenic lakeside city of Pokhara. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we’ll meet our driver and travel to a small village called Nayapul and a short walk to Birethati to collect our trekking permits. It’s all on foot from here, and our trek gets underway in earnest as we cross picturesque suspension bridges, hike past sparkling waterfalls, and cross alpine meadows where yaks graze and Gurung villagers tend to crops of buckwheat and millet. As we approach our destination of Ghandruk, we’ll even start to earn some breathtaking views of snowcapped mountains. Ghandruk itself is a sprawling hillside village where you’ll meet plenty of friendly Gurung villagers as we settle into our accommodations. We’ll be staying at one of the local trekking lodges or teahouses. This is how overnight trekking is usually done in Nepal, and you’ll reap the rewards of a home-cooked meal and a warm place to sleep. Once we get checked in, you can relax in the village with a hot mug of tea as dusk gathers over the summits of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the fishtail-shaped. In the evening, we may go to visit the Gurung museum and walk around the village with beautiful views of the Himalayas. Overnight at simple lodge [B/L/D]

    Activities : Trekking

  • Day 5

Trek to Chhomrong from Ghandruk (5to 6 hours trek) approx.

After our first breakfast in the mountain, we climb for around an hour up to Kimrungdanda. On the way, we can enjoy great views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), and Ganggapurna. From the top of this Kimrungdada, a steep descent takes us to the Kimrong Khola. Then we back up for another steep ascent from Kimrong Khola to Chere Danda, we descend for a while, and then it’s a gentle walk to Chhomrong. Chhomrong is a beautiful form village located on the lap of the giant Annapurna massive. The mesmerizing views are seen from the hotel. Overnight in Chhomrong. Overnight at simple lodge [B/L/D]

    Activities : Trekking

  • Day 6

Trek to Himalaya ( 5-6 hours)

We’ve already been trekking in the western Himalayas for a few days, so perhaps the name of our next destination on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek should come as no surprise. Our sights are set on a tiny group of lodges collectively known as Himalaya. To get there, we’ll descend from Chhomrong and cross a suspension bridge over the Chhomrong Khola before following the trail to Sinuwa. The trail will bring us through lush green forests and past iridescent waterfalls, and the ridgeline at Sinuwa affords beautiful mountain views that rival anything we’ve seen so far. From here, the trail alternately ascends and descends through bamboo woodlands, where lucky trekkers might be able to spot langur monkeys. Upon reaching Himalaya at last, we’ll make sure to get plenty of rest—tomorrow is a big day! Overnight at simple lodge [B/L/D]

    Activities : Trekking

  • Day 7

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp via Macchapuchhre Base Camp ( 5 to 6 hours trek)

Without a doubt, today is the most exciting day on our Annapurna Base Camp Trek itinerary. We’ll visit not one, but two separate base camps within the space of just a few hours. Our path sets out across ancient glacial moraines and through small stands of birch to approach the coveted Annapurna Sanctuary. There is some risk of encountering an avalanche here, and we’ll check with locals to assess the condition of the trail before proceeding. Soon we’ll find ourselves at Machapuchare Base Camp, where the soaring summits of Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli dominate the scene. It’s hard to imagine that the spectacle could get any better than this—but we still have a couple of hours to trek and a few hundred meters to climb. Our ultimate goal is Annapurna Base Camp, and it’s nothing short of superb. The Annapurna massif itself stretches across 50 kilometers of Himalayan territory, and the Annapurna Sanctuary gives you a front-row seat to witness the sheer majesty of its grandeur. Take all the time you’d like to celebrate our accomplishments so far—the photography opportunities here are limitless. When you’re ready for a break, we’ll settle into our lodge here at base camp and sit down to a hot meal before bed. Overnight at simple lodge [B/L/D]

  • Day 8

Trek from Annapurna Base camp to Sinuwa / Bamboo

From the ABC, we retrace our steps to Bamboo or a little further to Sinuwa for a better view on our second last day in the mountains. However, today’s trek is downhill, so it shouldn’t be very difficult. Besides, we will always have the company of the extraordinary landscape to cheer us up from the first step to the last step of hiking through the majestic land of the Himalayas. Coming back to Sinuwa is a little challenging in terms of stairs but worth it with better views of the lower valley of the region. Overnight in Sinuwa. Overnight at simple lodge [B/L/D]
