Pre-paid sim cards don't work in J&K due to security reasons, the postpaid connection is a must.
In Katra for Pithu / Palki / Pony services Municipal Committee Katra has fixed the rates and they are displayed on the rate card outside their booking office at Banganga. If someone is overcharging above the listed rates it's up to you how hard you can bargain.
In Srinagar if you are staying at the Houseboat:- The shikhara Ride is complimentary, do not pay for the same.
It is not mandatory for guests to take ponies in Gulmarg & Pahalgam to visit all the important tourist spots, all the major tourist attraction points are in close proximity so you can walk them down. However if still, if you wish to take a pony ride/sledding/rafting, etc the rates the highly negotiable. Please bargain to your max.
Sightseeing to Aru Valley / Beetab Valley / Chandanwari at Pahalgam will be by local taxi union only. Due to union outside vehicles cannot enter these places. The rate is highly negotiable if you wish to visit these places. You have to pay extra directly.
For Shopping :- Dry Fruits / Rajma / Basmati Rice / Handicraft / Woolens / Carpets/ Saffron / Cricket Bats Srinagar :- Lal Chowk / Boulevard
For Kashmiri Wazwan Food:- Aadhoos at Lal Chowk Srinagar is the best place and Mutton Kebab at Gee Enn Bakers - Residency Road.
For Vegetarian Food in Srinagar:- Krishna Dhaba is the best place.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

ARRIVAL AT SRINAGAR

Dal Lake

You will be met by our representative at the Srinagar airport. He will assist and transfer you to the Hotel. Later proceed to Sightseeing Tour to world-famous Mughal gardens including Shalimar, Nishat, Tulip gardens,(Asia's biggest tulip garden) botanical gardens, and Chesmashahi, Parimahal & Famous Hazratbal. All the gardens are situated on the banks of the Dal Lake with the Zabarwan hills in the background. Dinner and Overnight in the hotel.

Day 2

SRINAGAR-PAHALGAM-SRINAGAR

After breakfast proceeds to Pahalgam (The valley of shepherds). En route, visit the saffron fields of pampore, Awantipura Ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by the King Awantivarman), and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Drive through the pine forests. Arrive at Pahalgam and enjoy the Lidder stream. Later walk along pony trails with a magnificent view of the mountains. Evening back to Srinagar. Dinner and Overnight in the hotel.

Day 3

SRINAGAR-SONAMARG-SRINAGAR

Today after Breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Sonmarg (Golden Meadow). Sonmarg lies in Sind Valley streamed with flowers and surrounded by mountains. Sonmarg is also the base for some interesting treks to the high-altitude of Himalayan Lakes. Enjoy horse riding up to Thajiwas glacier and sled riding on snow (on direct payment).Evening back to Srinagar. Dinner & Overnight stay in houseboat.

Day 4

DEPARTURE

Today you will make your way to Srinagar Airport. Your time in Kashmir has taken you from the imposing Valleys of Pahalgam & Sonamarg. You have ventured across the expanse of the valleys to experience the region's sensational landscapes. From the opulent glow of the serene lakes and springs to towering mountain peaks, Kashmir holds the wonders and majesty of an entirely different world where you have wandered, wondered, and seen it all.
