The Rongai route is a 6–7 day climbing package for Mount Kilimanjaro that begins on the north side of the mountain, south of the Kenyan border. It's considered one of the easiest routes with a high success rate, and is less traveled than other routes.

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
The Rongai route is best during the rainy season because it receives little rain, and has lower traffic than other routes. It's also good for people who are new to mountain climbing, and can be climbed in 6 days, though 7 days is recommended for better acclimatization. The route includes walking through Moorland, and descends down the Marangu Route on the south side of the mountain, so climbers can see the mountain from different viewpoints. The route includes public restrooms in camps, but some recommend renting a portable toilet for comfort.
