The Kingdom of Bhutan, is a landlocked country in South Asia located at the eastern end of the Himalayas. The most important centres for tourism are in Bhutan's capital Thimphu, and in the western city of Paro, near India. Taktshang, a cliff side monastery (Called the "Tiger's Nest" in English) overlooking the Paro Valley, is one of the country's attractions. This temple is incredibly sacred to Buddhists. Housed inside the temple is a cave in which the Buddhist Deity who brought Buddhism to Bhutan fasted for 90 days as he battled the demons that inhabited this valley, in order to spread Buddhism. The temple has standing for well over a thousand years, yet has suffered two fires in which the damage has been repaired. Druk Air used to be the only airline operating flights in Bhutan, however now it is serviced by Buddha Air as well.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Pick up from NJP railway station/ Bagdogra airport & transfer to (Jaigaon Bhutan border) (4 hours drive). Check into Hotel. After lunch visit Phuntosholling ( Monastery, Crocodile project) Return & Night stay.
Day 2

After preparing the permit etc. Drive to Thimpu (5 to 6 hours journey) Check into Hotel. Evening free, Night stay in Thimpu.
Day 3

Whole day sight seeing (BBS, Takin Zoo, Chorten, Thimpu Dzong (The administrative building), Simthokha Dzong, SAARC assembly House, National Hndicrafts, Duty free shop etc.) in Thimpu. Night stay in thimpu.
Day 4

After breakfast drive to Punakha 70 k.m. 2 hours journey Night stay at Punakha.
Day 5

After breakfast, visit Wangdue Phodrang. Visit the town, Dzong and local market. The district of Wangduephodrang is also famous for its bamboo products, slate and stone carvings. Thereafter, drive back to Punakha and enjoy the afternoon at leisure exploring the town of Punakha on your own. & back to Paro & night stay
Day 6

Local sight seeing (Drukgel Dzong, Paro Musem, Airport View Point, River View Point) in Paro & return to Jaldapara National park & night stay.
Day 7

Early morning at 6.am. Visit Jungle safari at Jaldapara and transfer to New Jalpaiguri Station / Bagdogra Airport.
