Chanshal pass is one of best offbeat place near the Shimla city. Chanshal pass is the highest pass at the elevation of 4,520 meters. In winter chanshal pass is closed due to heavy snowfall. In Monsoon or in winter time their is need of 4*4 vehicle due to bad weather conditions. Chanshal pass is same like Rohtang pass only the difference here you will see beautiful panoramic views in 360 degree. The people who wants peacefulness, less crowded and some road adventure this is the best place for them.

How to go chanshal pass Chanshal pass near to the Shimla district approx 160 km from Shimla. First you have to reach Shimla by train or by cab. Book your hotel in Shimla for first night. Next day cab will pickup you from you hotel at 8 am drive to Rohru first which will take 5 hours to reach. On the way Kufri, Kotkhai, Kharapathar, Jubble, Hatkoti will come. On the way you can stop at Khara pathar which is perfect for leisure destination where you will see beautiful Apple orchard with surrounded by deodar forest. This is the perfect place for lunch also after then drive to Hatkoti. Hatkoti is the ancient temple made by Pandu. Hatkoti situated near the Pabbar river and one hour easily send here. After then drive to Rohru which is 30 minutes away from Hatkoti. Road and Pabbar river together reach the Rohru. In evening your stay in Rohru. Next morning drive to Chanshal pass which will take 3 hours to reach. Road are not in good condition so SUV will required. Chanshal pass also famous for expedition purposes. Road pass from Deodar forest which too amazing roads are narrow and your speed not much then 15 km per hour. On the top of chanshal peak you will find yourself on the top of world. A 360 degree view from top looks amazing. In winters there is lot of snow more then 10 feet that’s why in summer time lots of tourists come here. Snowboarding and ice skating are the main adventure sports here.

After spending two hours there come back to Rohru. Rohru is situated near the Pubbar valley here also you can do river rafting on Pabbar river. The flow of river not much fast which is the ideal for rafting. In evening cab will take you to local Rohru market for local purchase and then after spending one hour cab will take you to the hotel. Next morning starts to Shimla on the way you can see Giri Ganga which is 8 km from Kharapathar. It’s a beautiful place where Shiv temple situated between the small pond.
