Christmas is a time of celebration and in that vein, when you go on the Christmas in Marlborough Tour, you will be enjoying a Kiwi Christmas dinner and sashaying around the Top of the south wine region. Marlborough is an area rich in natures tapestry of stunning visual beauty and a horticultural paradise.
All around you on your travels are vast acres of land covered in Wineries and Orchards of many varities. Some of the best produce we have to offer comes from this region. You will be staying and playing in Picton and Nelson, which records the highest number of sunlight hours annualy in New Zealand.
A highlight is a dinner cruise on Queen Charlotte sound where you are surrounded by deep blue waters and native bush. There is a lot of local art and craft stores to visit, a Classic Car Museum, Aviation Centre and a spot of wine tasting to wash it down on the way. We have a lunch date booked in the Marlborough Sound on the waters edge, where you can bliss out in the peaceful surroundings.
This will be a Christmas to remember for all the joy and serenity it brings.

Blenheim - Highfield Estate - Picton
Your tour starts with a visit to the fantastic Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre ‘Knights of the Sky’ exhibition before morning tea in the cafe. Lunch is at lovely Highfield Estate restaurant with wonderful views over the Wairau Valley. After lunch at Highfield we drive to Picton to our hotel just back from the waterfront, stopping to enjoy the temptations of Makana Confections along the way. We dine in the hotel this evening.

Lochmara Lodge - Queen Charlotte Sound Cruise
Relax over a leisurely breakfast. This morning we board a launch at Picton to lunch at Lochmara Lodge restaurant and Art Centre set in beautiful grounds on the sound’s edge. This evening we take a relaxed dinner cruise out on Queen Charlotte Sound.

Christmas Lunch in Picton
We breakfast at the hotel and start our Christmas celebrations in a Blenheim home before returning to Picton for Christmas lunch at your hotel – around the pool, if the weather is kind. Later on perhaps take a stroll along the Picton waterfront with a light dinner back at the Mecure this evening.

Picton - Havelock - Nelson
On the road to Nelson we stop for coffee at the Slip Inn cafe at Havelock Marina and take photos at Pelorus Bridge. In Nelson we lunch by the water and visit the WOW® & Classic Cars Museum. Dine in your hotel this evening.

Nelson Sightseeing
We tour the Nelson countryside – the Moutere orchard region and visit Hogland Art Glass Studio and gallery where you can see glass blowing in action. We drive the coastal highway to lunch at Smokehouse Café above the river at Mapua and visit pottery and art galleries. We wine taste along the Moutere highway on our way back to our hotel.

Nelson
A day to relax and sightsee, with time to check out the city shops and visit the Suter Art Gallery in Queens Park. There is time for a final celebratory lunch before the conclusion of your tour.
