Pugu Kazimzumbwi Nature Forest Reserve is a 89.6 Square kilometer reserve that is located 20 kilometers southwest of the Dar es Salaam City centre. The forest is recognized for its high biodiversity value with spectacular flora and fauna. The forest offers enormous recreation satisfactions for Dar es Salaam city dwellers and visitors. A day in this lush forest is an excellent way to escape the city for a few hours and immerse yourself in nature. Your driver will collect you from your hotel and drive you to Pugu Kazimzumbwi. The drive may take up to one hour depending on your pick-up point. Upon arrival you will be met with your forest guide who will escort you through your hike via one of the numerous hiking trails. Note that the trail features areas with paved steps and steep inclines, and some areas are entirely unpaved. Packed lunch included. You will hike up to the viewpoint where you can take in the stunning sights of the whole city, the evergreen forest and waters below. On your descent, you will have a chance to visit the worshiping site and the bat caves, home to a colony of bats. Additional activities within the area include canoeing, photography, meditation etc. (additional costs apply for canoeing and is paid for on site). You will be dropped off at your hotel at the end of your excursion. Comfortable shoes; hiking shoes or sports shoes. Must be closed toe shoes.
