Besides the beach, the cultural and heritage rich streets, Penang boasts of a cool hill as well. Simply named Penang Hill, it is about 2750 feet above sea level and is the oldest hill resort in the country. A funicular train dating back to 1923, and has since been upgraded, functions to bring passengers to the top. The train ride is an experience in itself, coupled by colourful flora you’ll see. In case the train is under scheduled maintenance, the tour will be replacing by exploring the Botanical Garden as well as the Reclining Buddha. Followed by a visit to the Kek Lok Si temple and the tortoise pond (price includes all entrance fees, funicular train return ticket, lift ride to Goddess of Mercy statue).
