Glimpses of Kashmir

Upon arrival at Srinagar (1730 m), our representative would meet and assist you at the airport. Take the first glimpse of the beautiful city while your transfer to the Hotel. Check in and relax in your room. In the evening we visit Dal Lake to experience the most relaxing and soothing part of Kashmir holiday. While on the wonderful Shikara Boat Ride, see the floating vegetable market too. View different species of aquatic birds, the beautiful white and pink lotuses blooming in the lake and the breathtaking views around. Have dinner afterwards.

Have your fill at morning breakfast. Today we go for a Half day Sightseeing Tour. We visit Nishat Bagh(Abode of pleasure), built by Asif Khan, brother in-law of Jehangir in 1632 AD. The largest of the gardens, Nishat Bagh has seven terraces with beautiful water channel flowing right in the middle. Shalimar Bagh(Abode of love) was built by Emperor Jehangir for his wife Empress Nur Jahan in 1619 AD. The Garden has four terraces; the 4th terrace was once reserved for royal ladies. Later return to hotel in evening. Enjoy hot local dinner.

Enjoy morning breakfast at hotel and check out from the hotel. Later we proceed to Pahalgam, inarguably one of the most beautiful places on earth. The town of Pahalgam (Village of Shepherds), situated at the foothills of Himalayas, offers breathtaking views of snow capped peaks. Enjoy hot and freshly made dinner.

After breakfast, we would go to Gulmarg, an exceptionally beautiful mountain resort, at an altitude of 2,650m. Originally called ‘Gaurimarg’ by shepherds, its present name was given in the 16th century by Sultan Yusuf Shah, who was inspired by the sight of its grassy slopes filled with wild flowers. Also called ‘Meadow of Wild Flowers’, it was the favorite haunt of Emperor Jahangir who once collected 21 different varieties of flowers from here.

152 kms from Pahalgam, Gulmarg is one of the most beautiful resorts in the valley. It has been a resort for the kings who used to visit Gulmarg frequently. Not only the highest green golf course in the world with 18 holes, Gulmarg also boasts Asia’s highest and longest cable car project, the Gulmarg Gondola. It’s a two- stage ropeway which offers breathtaking views of snow clad mountain peaks and a one-of-its-kind unique experience. Gulmarg is the country’s premier ski resort in winters which offers one of the best ski slopes in the world so enjoy skiing too. Enjoy a hot dinner.

Enjoy morning breakfast at hotel and check out from the hotel. Today we drive back to Srinagar. Arrive Srinagar, Check in at the hotel and refresh. Later in the evening we can visit handicraft & handloom centers famous for production of Pashmina / Shahtoosh shawls, world famous carpets etc. Return to hotel and enjoy hot dinner.
