Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park takes you through dense forests to observe mountain gorillas in their natural habitat—a truly rare experience. This park is one of only four places on Earth where you can track these great primates, with stunning volcano views as your backdrop. Please note that participants must be at least 15 years old, treks are limited to groups of up to 8 people per day, typically last 2–4 hours, and proper hiking shoes are required. Also, since gorilla trekking is an extremely popular activity, which requires both a guide and a permit, we would recommend planning and booking this unique experience well in advance.
