En route, witness the sacred confluences at Devprayag (Bhagirathi & Alaknanda) and Rudraprayag (Alaknanda & Mandakini), while enjoying breathtaking Himalayan landscapes. Stop at a local dhaba for a traditional Garhwali meal before reaching your guesthouse. After check-in, relax and prepare your daypack for the next day’s trek to Kedarnath.

Start with a shared jeep ride from Sonprayag to Gaurikund, where the trek to Kedarnath begins. Follow the scenic Mandakini River through Jungle Chatti, Bheembali, and Linchauli before reaching Kedarnath. The final stretch rewards you with breathtaking views of the Kedarnath Temple and the majestic Kedar Dome. Attend the evening Aarti for a memorable spiritual experience and stay overnight at a GMVN guesthouse or campsite.

Begin your day with the divine morning Darshan at Kedarnath Temple. Afterward, descend on a 16 km trek to Gaurikund, following the same scenic trail. From Gaurikund, take a shared jeep to Sonprayag, collect your luggage, and drive to Ukhimath or Ransi for an overnight stay. Ukhimath, the winter seat of Lord Kedarnath, offers a peaceful setting to rest and recover before the next stage of the Panch Kedar Trek.

After breakfast, drive to Ransi Village, the starting point of the 23 km Madhyamaheshwar trek. Begin your trek through dense forests, traditional Garhwali villages, and alongside the Madhyamaheshwar Ganga River. Cover approximately 6 km to reach Gaundhar, a peaceful riverside village surrounded by Himalayan wilderness. Check into a local homestay and rest for the next day’s challenging ascent.

Begin an early trek from Gaundhar to Madhyamaheshwar, covering a steep mountain trail through oak and rhododendron forests before reaching beautiful alpine meadows. By evening, arrive at the sacred Madhyamaheshwar Temple, where the navel of Lord Shiva is worshipped, with the majestic Chaukhamba Peaks in the backdrop. Attend the temple rituals and stay overnight in a local homestay or community guesthouse.

Today’s 9 km trek begins from Chopta to the sacred Tungnath Temple, the world’s highest Shiva temple. Continue to the Chandrashila Summit for panoramic views of Nanda Devi, Trishul, and the Kedar Peaks before descending back to Chopta. Later, drive to Sagar Village, the base camp for the next challenging section of the Panch Kedar Trek, and stay overnight at a local homestay.

Begin one of the most challenging sections of the Panch Kedar Trek with a trek from Sagar Village to Panar Bugyal. The trail climbs through dense forests before opening into vast alpine meadows with stunning Himalayan views. On reaching Panar Bugyal, relax at the campsite and spend the night in tents under the star-filled mountain sky, preparing for the trek to Rudranath the next day.

Leave your heavy backpacks at Panar Bugyal and trek to the sacred Rudranath Temple via the scenic Pitradhar Ridge, the highest point of this section. After offering prayers at the temple, where the face (Mukha) of Lord Shiva is worshipped, return to Panar Bugyal along the same trail. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the campsite amidst the peaceful Himalayan meadows.

Begin the descent from Panar Bugyal to Sagar Village, taking your time on the steep trail. After completing the trek, drive to the peaceful Urgam Valley, the base for the final temple of the Panch Kedar Trek. Check into a hotel or homestay, refresh, and rest before the last day’s trek to Kalpeshwar.

Drive into the beautiful Urgam Valley, famous for its apple orchards and terrace farming. From the road head, it is a short, easy walk to the Kalpeshwar Temple. Kalpeshwar is the only Panch Kedar temple open yearround. It is a small rock cave where Lord Shiva ‘ s Jata (matted locks) are worshipped. Spend some quiet time in meditation here, concluding your spiritual circuit. We will spend the night at Urgam, explore the villlage life today.

After breakfast, commence the long drive back toward Rishikesh. Follow the winding rivers back down the mountains, watching the landscape transition from high peaks back to the bustling foothills. Arrive in Rishikesh by early evening, marking the successful completion of the magnificent Panch Kedar Trek.
