Lake Nakuru National Park is situated approximately 164 kilometres from Nairobi, a two hours drive from Nairobi city. Twenty seven percent (27%) of the park is composed of the Lake Nakuru waters. The lake is 2km north of Nakuru town.

Lake Nakuru is world famous for, and was created a National Park, to protect its stunning flocks of lesser flamingo, which literally turn its shores pink. Its birdlife is world renowned: a beacon for leading ornithologists, scientists and wildlife film-makers.

Kenya Wildlife Services (K.W.S) has successfully established rhino sanctuary in the park and you can almost be guaranteed sighting of these endangered creature while on safari to Lake Nakuru National Park. This Park is also home to the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. Game viewing in Lake Nakuru National Park is relatively easy, buffalo, leopard, lion, Black and White Colobus monkey are plentiful in the forest. The bushlands offer eland, steinbok, impala, Chandler's reedbuck and dik dik. Predators to be seen in the park include lions, leopards and hyenas who have a strange habit of feeding ono flamingos.
