Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves – Nam Ou Elephant Farm Tour

A river escape to the well-known Pak Ou Caves in a limestone cliff at the mouth of the Nam Ou River with thousands of Buddha images of all styles and sizes. Then continue boating to an elephant farm nestled between forested mountains and peaceful village along the river. This is lovely place for you to get up close and personal with these friendly giants. The boat ride on the mighty Mekong is a special Lao travel experience and the landscape around is simply stunning. You also take time to explore nearby villages.

FULL ITINERARY

Early morning, meet with your private guide at your hotel and transfer to the river port to embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. En route, you will stop at Ban Muang Keo, a well-known village for its traditional Lao rice whisky distilling.

After visiting the caves, continue your cruise on the lazy Nam Ou River to the Nam Ou Elephant Farm, the unique farm located along the Nam Ou River. The Camp Manager will welcome and greet you and brief shortly about the village while strolling around to visit the farm, you’ll then enjoy 01-hour elephant ride to visit some nearby villages. After that, transfer back to Luang Prabang late afternoon.
