Luang Prabang In Depth 6 Days / 5 Nights Tour

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Luang Prabang - Arrival

  Your Laos vacation begins with your arrival at the centre of religious life in Laos. This is the World Heritage city of Luang Prabang. You will be met by our Laos tour guide and taken to your hotel. Your time on this first day is free and you can relax and rest overnight.

• Day 2 : Luang Prabang

  Early morning around 05:40am, observing an Arm-Giving, hundreds of monks walking along side walk to collect rice and food from laymen. We then visit Fresh Morning Market at Prakham village. Back to hotel for breakfast then you will be taken to The National Museum. There is plenty to investigate and admire at this large museum in the center of town. Next, you will visit Wat Visoun with its impressive stupa and the shrine of Wat Aham. After your visit to Wat Xieng Thong you will next climb the 355 steps to the summit of Mount Phousi. There are plenty of rest stops on the way up. At the half-way point you will see the Wat Tham Phousi shrine and at the summit you will visit the gilded stupa. Your trip affords spectacular views of the city. There is a wonderful opportunity to see the sunset from a superb vantage point. After your descent from the mountain; you will be taken to visit The Street Night Market affording plenty of opportunities for purchasing souvenirs. Your Laos tour first full day ends with an overnight stay at your hotel.

• Day 3 : Luang Prabang

  You will enjoy breakfast at your hotel before your Laos tour guide collects you for the river cruise for today’s tour. The Mekong River is beautiful and of course the best way to view it is to travel on it. The surrounding countryside is both tranquil and picturesque. We will take you to visit the village of Ban Xanghai. This village is famous for its distilled local rice wine. You will arrive at the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. These are packed full of golden lacquered statues of the Buddha. On the return journey you will take a short drive to Ban Zang Khong. In this village the local people hand weave exquisite silk materials. The day ends with your Laos trip returning to your hotel for the overnight stay.

• Day 4 : Luang Prabang

  After breakfast, we drive to Living Land Lao Organic farm at Pung Van village. Upon arrival, your guide and the representative of the farm briefs about the historical and activity of the farm. Today attending a half day of rice experience including growing ride until stream ride. We also have time to visit the Organic products after rice experience. Afternoon, transfer you back to town. We drive out of town 30KM to the beautiful Kuang Sii Fall, where you can swim, relax, soft trek to the top of the fall. On return short stop at Black Hmong Village, where hill tribe hand-made handicraft as souvenirs for visitors pass by. Back to town, check in hotel and relax.

• Day 5 : Luang Prabang

  Once more your Laos trip provides your breakfast at the hotel before your Laos tour guide and driver escort you out of town to visit the elephant camp. On the way to the camp we will take in Ban Phom Nom village where virtually all the villagers are weavers. Some were servants to the last king and learnt their craft making cloth and garments for the royal family. After that we visit the monument to Henri Mouhot at Kang Noon. Henri Mouhot was responsible for alerting the West to the plight of Angkor Wat. Shortly after he moved to Laos but succumbed to malaria in 1861. No Laos vacation would be complete without seeing these gentle giants and what better way than in truly authentic surroundings. Many of the elephants have been rescued and their history will be explained by the staff at the camp. You can take a 50 minute elephant ride and help to wash these lovable animals in the nearby Karn River. We will return to Luang Prabang, where your day will end again, courtesy of your Laos Tour, with an overnight stay at your hotel.

• Day 6 : Departure

  Luang Prabang – Departure.
