Roopkund, in the state of Uttarakhand in India, is a famous glacial lake. This lake is famous due to more than five hundred skeletons of humans that are found at the edge of the lake. It is located in the Himalayas and rests at an altitude of nearly 4,800 meters. Roopkund is located in the Chamoli district of Garhwal. It is one of the best sites for Trekking in Garhwal.

    Drive To Base Village

    Drive to Base Village – Wan (7,800 ft) | 11-12hours. Meet at Dehradun, the place will be decided

    Gehroli Patal

    Trek starts from Wan to Gehroli Patal (10,000 ft) | 5-hour trek

    Activities : Trekking

  • Day 3

    Patar Nachauni

    Gehroli Patal (10,000 ft) to Patar Nachauni (12,700 ft) by Bedni Bugyal (11,500 ft) | 5 hours

    Activities : Trekking

  • Day 4

    Bhagwabhasa

    Patar Nachauni (12,700 ft) to Bhagwabhasa (14,100 ft) | 5 hours (3 hours steep ascent to Kalu Vinayak)

    Roopkund Lake

    Bhagwabasa (14,100 ft) to Roopkund Lake (15,750) and trek up to Junargali (16,000 ft). Trek back to Patar Nachauni (12,700 ft) along Bhagwabasa | 9 hours
