The Sindh Valley, on the way to Sonamarg, has some of the most exquisite scenery in the world. Ganderbal, Kangan, and Gund are three tiny settlements on the route. The first section of the route is littered with picturesque hamlets and rice farms, and Walnut groves are also present.

Tourists visit the Baltal Valley, located 12 kilometres from the city centre, every year to hike or pony ride to the cave, which is only 5 kilometres away from this location.
