Visit three jewels of India’s Mughal Empire on this overnight tour to Agra and Fatehpur Sikri from Delhi. Traveling by private vehicle with a private driver, journey to Agra for a guided tour of the magnificent Taj Mahal. Learn the tragic story behind the mausoleum as you explore, and visit 16th-century Agra Fort, where the Emperor Shah Jahan, who commissioned the Taj, spent his last days. See the Tomb of Itmad-ud Daullah, and lastly, visit Fatehpur Sikri, the extraordinary abandoned capital of the Mughals, on route back to Delhi. After roughly three hours, arrive in bustling Agra, the home of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Taj Mahal. Get tantalizing glimpses of this incredible 17th-century building as you approach. Then, on arrival, meet your local guide and head inside the grounds of the monument. Walk through the domed gateway, and marvel at the exquisite white marble Taj. Commissioned by the Emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 as a mausoleum for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, this majestic tomb looks mirage-like from a distance. Stroll around the gardens, terrace and interior as you learn fascinating facts about its construction and symmetrical design.
