Known as the City of Whispering Monuments, Bidar is situated at the border of Maharashtra and Telangana.
Its existence is recorded earliest with the 3rd Century B. C. when it was a part of the glorious Mauryan Empire. Since then, Bidar has seen the splendor of many dynasties including Allauddin Khilji, the Tughlaks, and the Bahamani Dynasties.
The current fort in place is attributed to the first Sultan of the Bahamani Dynasty, in a shift of capitals from Gulbarga to Bidar.
