Umbwe Route: 6-Day Kilimanjaro Challenge

After breakfast, transfer to the Umbwe Gate (1,800m) for registration and formalities.
Begin the challenging trek through dense montane forest, ascending steeply via the Umbwe route.
Arrive at Umbwe Camp (2,940m), your first campsite on the mountain.
Rest, refuel, and enjoy dinner before settling in for the night.

Depart Karanga Camp and continue the ascent towards Barafu Camp (4,600m), your final base camp.

Arrive at Barafu Camp and rest for the remainder of the day, mentally preparing for the summit bid.
Eat an early dinner and retire to your tent for a few hours of rest before the summit attempt.

Awake before midnight for a light meal and begin the summit ascent under the cover of darkness.
Trek through the night, guided by headlamps and the rhythmic crunch of gravel underfoot.
Reach Stella Point (5,685m) at the edge of the crater rim, where you'll witness a breathtaking sunrise.
Continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.
Celebrate your achievement and soak in the panoramic views before beginning the descent.
Descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp (3,100m) for the night.
