The best way to explore the Vatican Museums is after they close to the general public. This after hours tour provides you with the opportunity to explore the museums in the same way that the Popes who created this collection once did, with an intimate group and at a slower pace, which is only possible when the museum is not open to the general public. Your english guide will accompany you through the museums and show you the impressive frescoes of the Sistine Chapel and the ancient sculptures which have inspired artists from the renaissance to contemporary times, without the huge crowds which are present during the daytime openings. The Vatican only offers us this late entry, a more comfortable and enjoyable opportunity to visit this vast collection, during the warmest months of the year. Please note that this entry does not include Saint Peters Basilica as the church is closed when the after hours Museums tour takes place.

The Basilica is subject to last minute closures for religious ceremonies. When this occurs, we are happy to offer to our customers an extended tour of the Vatican Museums. While we undertake to tell tour groups ahead of time whether there are any planned disruptions to the Basilica opening hours, this is not always possible. Appropriate dress is required to enter into some sites of this tour. Knees, shoulders and backs must be covered for both men and women.
