One of the most visited attractions in Kerala, the backwater never fail to lure and enchant the visitor with its boats and Chinese fishing nets, reminiscent of the times when this was the part of ancient trade route. Enjoy the sun, sand and surf on the guaint beaches along the coastline. Added for some adventure, a visit to the Periyar National Park. Day Wise Breakup

Day 1 - Trivandrum – Kovalam by road

Form Trivandrum, drive to Kovalam. On arrival in Kovalam, check into the hotel. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure by relaxing on the beach. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 - Kovalam

After breakfast in the morning, enjoy rest of day at leisure by relaxing on the beach. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 - Kovalam – Alleppey by road

After breakfast in the morning, drive to Alleppey (Alappuzha). On arrival in Alleppey, embark a houseboat and sail through Kerala’scenic backwaters observing the activities of the local people. Drop anchor and stay overnight onboard the houseboat.

Day 4 - Alleppey – Kumarakom by boat

After breakfast, arrive in Kumarakom. Disembark from the houseboat and check into hotel. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 - Kumarakom – Periyar by road

After breakfast, drive to the popular wildlife sanctuary Periyar. On arrival in Periyar, check into the hotel. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 - Periyar

After breakfast, take a boat ride on the Periyar Lake set amidst the wildlife sanctuary. See elephants, flying squirrels, striped – necked mongoose and a variety of birds including the Niligiri wood pigeon and white – bellied woodpeckers. If you re lucky, you could also spot a tiger or leopard. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 - Periyar – Munnar by road

After breakfast, drive to Munnar. On arrival in Munnar, check into the hotel. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 - Munnar

After breakfast, take a sightseeing tour and admire the scenic beauty of the Munnar Hills, which are largely blanketed by tea plantations. Enjoy the aroma of fresh tea and the sight of quaint churches. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 - Munnar – Cochin by road

After breakfast in the morning, drive to Cochin (Kochi). On arrival in Cochin, check into the hotel. In the afternoon, take a sightseeing tour and visit the Mattancheery Dutch Palace where a series of murals painted on wooden walls are main attraction. Also visit the 16th century Jewish Synagogue and the Church of St. Francis. Vasco da Gama was originally buried in the church’s cemetery. Walk around the Fort Cochin area and admire the Chinese fishing nets. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 - Depart Cochin

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for onward travel.
