Aswan Museum was established in 1912 in an old house located on the southern most tip of Elephantine Island. The museum has a varied collection depicting the history of Aswan as well as of Nubia. Mummies, utensils, weapons, statues and pottery are some of the exhibits of Aswan Museum. Tourists can also view the ruins of Abu, to which the garden outside the museum leads.
