Bodhgaya is the most holy pilgrim for people of Buddhist religion since Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment under a tree. The Mahabodhi Temple Complex was constructed around that holy spot and attracts pilgrims from all over the world. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
